Republican Gov. Scott Walker has quietly signed a bill that allows Wisconsin farmers to grow industrial hemp.
Walker spokesman Tom Evenson said the governor signed the bill Thursday but his office didn't issue any news releases about it.
The bill passed the Legislature unanimously. The measure's sponsor, Republican Rep. Jesse Kremer, tweeted Thursday that the bill will make Wisconsin a leader in hemp production. His tweet included the hashtag "AmericasHempland."

I’ve heard if you go to Montreal, the smell of marijuana is EVERYWHERE.
Wisco Weed!
Grows in cow pastures all over the state.
I love the smell of marijuana in the morning.
It smells like, I don’t know, freedom.
Montreal is a cesspool. All of Quebec is really. Played a gig there in 1987 and have no desire to ever go back.
I had to buy some twine...it was hemp...and it was imported. So this “no hemp for you policy” was purely political and anti-American.
The luciferians quashed it as it would not have enabled the rise of islam, and the enslavement of mankind to petroleum dependence.
Many farmers grow ‘cow corn,’ but in the middle of some 100 acre field there is a one acre or more plot of sweet corn not visible from any angle otherwise - it will be the same for hemp and MJ.
Talibanization to follow with poppy fields.
“What do you mean if. Hemp has thousands of uses.”
It makes great rope....which we will need a lot of come the revolution.
It’s a huge export for some Canadian provinces. The upper Midwest states could see great gains from this.
I know but it is close enough for gubmint work.
Good. Its crazy to have hemp as a crop that is illegal to grow.
...but in the middle of some 100 acre field there is a one acre or more plot of... whatever they want to grow right now.
Or, even more likely, inside a barn or hothouse. Especially now that led lights that mimic sunshine are cheap. They dont use much electricity.
“If there are uses for Industrail Hemp,”
Couriously enough I read article where hemp was better electrical storage than graphene. I’m sorry WA didn’t pursue this and recycle pulp mills to process hemp into fiber, and re-start textile factories for clothing. Hemp is naturally anti-bacterial, and wears like iron, which is why Levi’s were originally made from hemp sail cloth.
FYI, a few years ago Wisconsin was one of the nation’s largest commercial hemp producers. I have hunted ruffed grouse in an area that has one field as large as 80 acres where hemp (cannabis) grows wild. The birds love the seeds. I am told that smoking industrial hemp will only give you a headache and a bad cough. No reason not to grow this stuff because it has many uses and is not subject to abuse.
