We haven't seen....

Each of us sees what we want to see. Headline writers want to write headlines that get them promotions. They write what their boss wants to see.

I don’t remember which is which. There are several calculations. One counts unemployed who are still receiving unemployment benefits. Another includes those who are chronically unemployed whose benefits have expired and have given up seeking work.

I think that one is closer to 9%. It’s more accurate but it would be political suicide to go from 4% to 9% overnight. The media would have a field day spinning that one.

I lived in Hollywood for the past 3 years, moved to AZ in May. I paid $2700.00 month-directly across from Capitol Records.
90% of homeless are a bunch of drunk addicts.
There are shelters with rules-no drugs, no drinking period.
They choose this lifestyle and the city allows it to happen.

It’s so disgusting that they power wash Hollywood blvd every morning to wash the urine smell so the tourists don’t gag!

The stories I could tell.
CA is lost, LA is a wasteland.

I was surprised a few years ago to see articles about the homeless WHILE OBAMA WAS PRESIDENT. That shocked me because - we were told - everything was just lovely while “The One” was in charge. Now that this article has come out, despite the fact that the country is experience a great deal of growth and some excellent drops in unemployment, signals to me that the old tried and true meme of “Republican Presidents Leads to Homelessness” is going to be trotted out everywhere.

And I don’t think it will work.

Thanks.

U3 U6 U9+ (shadowstats uses the same calculations as used to determine unemployment during Great Depression) it is generally accepted that unemployment during Great Depression was 23%-24%. Using the same calculation, we have been running 24%-26% for the last 7 yrs. Unemplyment is just now starting to go down.

Obama owns the Greater Depression.

How queer.

Zero reports on homelessness anytime a Democrat is president.

Yet all major cities have Democrat mayors. How is it that they only have homeless people when Republicans are president? Oh, they are always in these cities? Then what is the news item?

The stories I could tell. CA is lost, LA is a wasteland.

When I left LA over 30 years ago it was starting to become derelict-infested, even in some of the wealthier areas.

I live now in NYC. The homeless are everywhere -- on the streets, subway trains, etc. Most of them are, as you said, drunks, druggies. I think they would be better served in an institution, but no-o-o-o, that's not PC.

Legal weed. I’m hoping for a particularly cold winter here to mobilize our homeless weed zombies to move to California where the weed is also legal and the winters are warm.

We now have more homeless, the temperature is rising, the oceans are rising, food costs more, gas prices are on the rise, and on and on and on.

TRUMPS FAULT!

People flock to our small city because the giveaways are known to be generous. Then they started sending volunteers out to the panhandlers to try to get them off all the intersections- a massive failure. They are either unemployable or prefer panhandling to a real job.
