The iconic black-and-white photograph of a young woman being ogled by men on an Italian street has been removed from the Center City restaurant Gran Caffe L’Aquila after its owner said he recently received about two dozen complaints from customers that it depicts sexual harassment.
The poster-size image had hung along the main staircase to the second floor of the Italian restaurant, visible to a portion of its second-floor dining room through a picture window, since its opening in December 2014.
Co-owner Riccardo Longo said complaints began last month, shortly after Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein began facing public accusations of harassment, unleashing a torrent of allegations against powerful men and opening new dialogue on the subject.
Longo said customers approached him directly to express their discomfort with the Ruth Orkin print from 1951, titled “An American Girl in Italy.

Back in the 1980’s I worked high rise construction for a while in West Palm Beach, Florida. One job was right next to a Bennigan’s and we would see a lot of women stopping by for lunch. We would call out to and wave at the pretty ones and roughly 1/3 would stiffen up and quickly walk inside and ignore us but roughly 2/3 would look up and wave back to us.
In my opinion much of what some call sexual harassment is regarded by most sa an innocent compliment. Somehow women who dislike men are setting the narrative for what is acceptable behavior. I would expect a backlash at some point in the future...
As a young woman, I enjoyed the whistles, the hubba-habbas, the hey good-lookings. What a boost to my esteem! ...and it somehow caused a little extra swing on my backside.
They complain if they’re “noticed” and complain if they’re not. If guys wouldn’t give me a second look I’d tend to wonder ...
Probably a little group of three “Rosie-O’Donnells” making the same complaint over and over under different email accounts. “I was OUTRAGED!!”
Look closely at the complaints.
The restaurant manager may see the same typos, capitalizations and misspellings occurs from letter to letter. Maybe even the same e-stationary.

I’m far from being a liberal, but I would hate this if it happened to me. When I was young and cute it often did, and I hated it. It’s not a compliment, believe me.
only when that admiration for a woman is carried too far is it a problem. But looking never hurt anyone. As I say, I may be on a strict diet (imposed by my wife), but I still enjoy looking at the menu. No doubt my wife enjoys the same activity. 8>)
Why are none of these men working? oh that’s right, it’s Italy.
This crap won’t stop till instead of pulling the picture down, he throws them out the front door. He might be surprised at the business he GETS when word of having a backbone gets out.

The woman photographer was with her companion, shown in the picture. They saw a picture opportunity and took full advantage of it. The women walked through the men, and the picture was taken. The picture must have earned her millions!!!!!

I’ve seen that picture at an Italian restaurant here in Boise or Meridian, too.

Methinks all of this sexual harassment, assault, etc, is designed to facilitate the take over of the world by progressive, Democrat, Marxist women.
Think about it. The women take over, and the men become slaves. It’s all about climate change. If fewer offspring, then the world will be saved.
