WASHINGTON - The playoff hopes for the Washington Redskins took a big hit Sunday after they lost to the New Orleans Saints and blew a 15-point fourth quarter lead in the process. After the loss, it appears the Redskins fan base is also reeling as well based off of the ticket prices for their next home game on Thanksgiving.
The Redskins will have a short turnaround this week as they will host the New York Giants at Fedex Field on Thursday. While the matchup will be a nationally televised battle between NFC East rivals, there are tickets available on the resale market for as little $7. Yes, that's right -- $7.
On the online ticket exchange site StubHub Monday afternoon, the cheapest ticket available for the game was going for $7.16 for a standing room-only spot in the upper deck of the stadium. While there are plenty of nosebleed seats available, there are some lower level seats also available going between $9 to $15.

I remember that incident. Sid Brooks, long-time equipment manager for the Chargers, lost sight in one of his eyes for the rest of his life because some reprobate Giants fan put a rock in a snowball.

Please post a link to any evidence of that. I never heard that, and as a long-time attendee of football games at Giants Stadium I’d love to find out where I could have found any rocks to throw at the Philadelphia Eagles in those days.
Our local high school rivalry game kicks off at 11 AM on Thanksgiving morning. The two schools are about four miles apart and many of the kids have known each other most of their lives. Last year both won their division State Championships; this year both lost in the semifinals. So it’s the last game for the seniors and the final game of the season for the others.
I guess that’s early enough in the day; from 3 pm on I wouldn’t go anywhere for a football game - and wouldn’t be watching on TV either.
A lot of people figure they can sell off a few tickets to help pay for the cost of the season ticket package. But if those tickets are going to be going for ten bucks apiece, you can’t count on making any money back, so you might not buy the season ticket package, and just pick up the seats you want on StubHub.
A beer and a hot dog costs more than the lower-level seats. I love watching the NFL die from Colin cancer.

Parking will still be $30, or more, which has just got to make you laugh a little.
I’m going to this game. It’s considerably less about the actual game than it is spending time with family tailgating and having fun without all the pressure of a huge Thanksgiving dinner. But our tickets were NOT this cheap. Oh well.
Sorry, I was wrong about the rock thing! I guess it was more of a chunk of ice than a snowball. But Sid Brooks was knocked out from it. I seem to recall hearing that he lost his vision, but I guess not. I found an article reading that 175 fans were ejected from that game, and the referee threatened to declare a forfeit for the Giants. Pretty crazy!
That’s how I remember it. I knew he had been knocked out but I never heard of any permanent injuries. The Giants were so embarrassed that they took out a full page ad in the San Diego newspaper to apologize to their team and fans.
