AL Gov. Kay Ivey Still Supports Moore because of the Supreme Court

The preponderance of alleged sexual impropriety committed by Alabama Republican senate candidate Judge Roy Moore has yet to dissuade several prominent Republicans from voting for him. Alabama Governor Kay Ivey announced Friday she still supports Moore. Ivey specifically said she does so due to potential Supreme Court vacancies.

"I believe in the Republican Party, what we stand for, and most important, we need to have a Republican in the United States Senate to vote on things like Supreme Court justices, other appointments the Senate has to confirm and make major decisions,” Ivey told reporters on Friday. Ivey also said she has no reason not to believe Moore's accusers, but noted that the timing of their accusations is "curious."

Roy Moore is accused by various women in the state of Alabama for either dating or attempting to make sexual advances towards them when they were teenagers. One woman claims this happened when she was as young as 14 and Moore was in his 30s. The most heinous of these allegations comes from Beverly Nelson, who says Roy Moore raped her when she was 16.

But, unless there is hidden audio, video, or some other photographic evidence, there is no way to prove that these women are telling the truth. However, Daily Wire writer and Twitter extraordinaire Matt Walsh summed up the situation nicely:

At this point you either have to believe that dozens upon dozens of regular people are liars -- or Roy Moore is a liar. https://t.co/nZ7lUPQmTq— Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) November 14, 2017

Gov. Ivey’s position is truly no different than Washington Post columnist Kate Harding’s stance on Al Franken. There is actual photo evidence that Franken assaulted a sleeping Leeann Tweeden. Plus, Tweeden accused  the former Saturday Night Live host  of shoving his tongue down her throat without consent. Yet Harding is willing to forgo her moral compass to allow Franken to stay in power. To Harding, Franken should remain in power because he is voting the right way. He has a chance,  in her mind, to protect women through future votes. Harding says her position can still change. "Only one woman has alleged that Franken assaulted her; if her story emboldens others to tell theirs, and the senator is revealed to be a serial predator, then I wouldn’t want him in a position of power for one more minute.”

Now, to be fair, Leeann Tweeden has said that she does not want Sen. Franken to step down. She maintains her only goal was to empower other victims of sexual assault to come forward. What Leeann Tweeden went through is clearly very traumatic. It was brave of her to come forward, especially against a person of power both in Hollywood and in Congress. But, unless Franken is punished, how emboldened will other assault victims be to reveal their stories? What good is it if victims come forward, but then no consequences occur to the perpetrator once it is determined they are telling the truth?

Harding and Ivey are both playing to the ugliness that pervades American politics; tribalism. Ivey puts forth quite explicitly that her allegiance is to the GOP. Harding says she is loyal to Democrats. Ivey says she has no reason not to believe the women, but justifies her decision because of the Supreme Court. Harding essentially says one woman is not that bad, so why bother getting rid of Franken and lose votes? The two are putting their tribes - Democrats and Republicans - ahead of individuals.

The problem is both these public figures view the battle between the GOP and the Democrat Party as a true civil war. Both are taking radical positions and truly embracing Saul Alinsky. One of his famed rules is, “In war, the end justifies almost any means.” Like many Americans, these two are putting their short term goals ahead of what should be their rock solid principles.

No one is conceding guilt, it just isn’t relevant to anything.

You know, it really doesn't matter. The die was cast long ago. Agree with the way things are or not, Judge Moore should certainly be an Alabama senator.

This argument is millennia old. Human civilization has largely been a patriarchal system. Men have nearly always wielded power and influence over women. The cynic can say that men have ruled the roost, nothing wrong with that, men are simply the stronger sex. The stronger of the strong typically rise to the top.

It's curiously satisfying to watch the Libs go nuts, as usual. They always put politics above ethics. They have protected sexual predators for many decades, simply because the predator had agreeable ;political stances. They've ignored the wolves in their fold and made excuses. Now, with alleged wolves within their opponent's camps, they've discovered virtue, morality, integrity, ethics? I laugh at their angst. I am giddy watching them twist and wriggle and make rationalization of their acceptance of those friendly wolves within their own flocks of sheep.

“The choice is between a creep and someone who thinks its OK to kill babies.”

At least you are pro-life, though naive about politics.

I see you’ve been with Free Republic for less than 3 years. I’m wondering if that is because of a change in politics, Obama pushed you to the right, you grew up, or some other explanation for where you’ve been for the prior decade of leftwing devastation.

How would you feel to be asked for an interview on your local TV news about whether you’ve quit sexually assaulting underage girls before or after you joined Free Republic two-and-a-half years ago?

The reality is that people rarely change from a sexual fixation. If Moore really did anything remotely similar to what he’s been accused of, it would have showed up in how he’s conducted himself since.

I find it literally impossible to believe that a sexual predator would be so devoted to God and the Bible as to be willing to lose his job over it. That’s what Moore did.

Some politicians wrap themselves in the mantle of religion to get votes and get ahead. Moore did the opposite.

At most, Moore dated and attempted to date younger, but of legal age, girls.

You’ve got people in both parties who hate Moore because of his views on homosexuality, Islam, immigration, and many other things. And these people are willing to do anything to destroy him.

So I don’t know why any conservative has trouble believing his side of the story.

If this is all it takes to destroy the political career of any conservative, then you can expect it to happen over and over from now on. Don’t fall for this nonsense.

Without ironclad proof, nothing that happened 40 years ago is worthy of any consideration. If a person truly believes someone was a sexual predator, they should scrutinize his current life to see if there is any more recent evidence.

The evidence that Bill Clinton, the Podestas, and many other leftwing power players have sexually abused children is overwhelming. Bill Clinton took many trips with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein to his lolita island. When someone is a sex abuser, if you don’t have evidence to convict, you just need to track their activities, because they will do it again.

People are afraid to expose rich and powerful people like Bill Clinton. They are not afraid of a judge who has gotten kicked out of his position twice: once for controversially insisting on displaying a large ten commandments display, and once for instructing other judges to ignore the Supreme Court’s ruling on homosexual marriage.

None of the allegations against him are credible.

If you or any other conservative is willing to take what has been put forward against Moore for anything more than slander and libel, you deserve to have it done to you to teach you a lesson.

So now we're up to "dozens upon dozens?"

“The most heinous of these allegations comes from Beverly Nelson, who says Roy Moore raped her when she was 16.”

No such allegations were made. The claim was he got aggressive and she thought he was going to try and rape her, so she jumped out of his car.

I have not heard a single allegation of non-consensual sex or even consensual sex outside of marriage.

Yes, there have been nasty allegations mixed with innuendo. But not this. How can someone write an article like this and get so far off the mark?

This whole thing IS about sex. It is about the homosexual agenda promoters who do not want a man like Moore to be a senator.

There is only one case where physical edvidence has been produced and that is the yearbook. It’s clearly a fraud. If you can find one liar, you can find plenty more.

I believe JUDGE Roy Moore also.

Read this: Check out this little fact from TheCipher From "TigerClaws" : Here's that image and a link to its ORIGINAL source : And here’s one more source:

That's the THIRD Spelling of his assistant.

WHICH ONE IS CORRECT ?

Check out this little fact from TheCipher Here’s one more source: And here’s a link to a DIFFERENT SPELLING of that name:

The more I search those different spellings of the assistant's name, the more I'm inclined to believe it was Delbra Adams.
I get results for a Court Specialist at State of Alabama Circuit Clerk's Office Cherokee County.
I also get results as a certified public notary located in Sand Rock, AL.
And ... I get results for Delbra Adams in Leesburg , AL. with a lot of A.K.A.s

Hey Matt Walsh you aint as smart as I thought you were. Where are these dozens and dozens of accusers? You’re supposed to be a conservative republican but your braindead remark sounds exactly like something a democrat would say or an establishment NeverTrumper like Shiparo or Bernie Goldberg.

Supporter of the the Turtle and the Swamp, are you?

Moore is our candidate and this bimbo eruption only strengthens my support for him. Only a hopelessly gullible person believes that he is guilty.

I reiterate: Moore is OUR candidate. We rejected your Establishment candidate, Luther Strange.

If he wins and the GOPE attempts to expel him, do you actually expect the people of Alabama to quietly accept being disenfranchised? Expelling Moore over lies would be a declaration of war against the State of Alabama.

Listen and listen good: WE will choose our Senator, not Mitch McConnell or the other Establishment trash.

At this point, no other candidate is acceptable. It will be a cold day in Hell before I vote for any candidate handpicked by McConnell or the National Republican party. Understand?

I’m a conservative, not a Republican.

He can cast the right vote, of course, but can he truly fight the Swamp? Will anyone listen to him?

I vote; but am convinced that not many listen to me.

Let’s get this straight. Rapists, pedophiles, and other sexual predators are addicted to what they do, and usually go in the direction of more out of control and less discrete with what they do. If Moore really was that guilty, it’s likely allegations would be coming down from more recently than 40 years ago.

Ivey’s position may very well elect a Democrat to the Senate from AL, which is exactly the opposite of what she wants. She and she alone has the power to postpone or even cancel this Special Election. She may regret her decision to do nothing.

There is other ways. Fire Ears Sessions, write him in and he will win hands down because most Alabama Republicans still adore (just threw up a little) him. Then President Trump can maybe, just maybe find a fire eating democrat hating prosecuting madman/woman that does not have a damn thing to recuse themselves from except bathroom breaks that will find the WE THE PEOPLE some gdamn JUSTICE before we pick up our weapons and a ton of ammo and take this country back or LEAVE THE BASTARD high and dry (THAT IS MY VOTE).

His accusers will disappear, like they did with Trump.

You think with all of the take downs that are happening right now that these accusers are not going to reappear with a vengeance? I think they will and this is pretty much what is on the horizon.

For President Trump's sake and for the sake of America we cannot handle anymore of this male bovine scat before the moral order is restored by force.
