A prehistoric lion cub has been found in permafrost on the bank of Tirekhtykh River of the Abyisky district of Yakutia by local resident Boris Berezhnov. The young beast's head was resting on a paw in frozen ground for up to 50,000 years, as shown in these amazing first pictures.
The preservation is so good that it raises hopes of cloning the species back to life, he said.
The discovery is seen as better preserved than two tiny cave lion cubs found in the same Siberian region in 2015.

Nope. What we need is a couple of million cloned genuine Vikings.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Why not? Hundreds are buried in Gamla Upsala, Sweden.
We can beat off the muzzies and retrieve some Viking DNA.
LOL.
“We can beat off the muzzies and retrieve some Viking DNA.”
I don’t think that came across the way you meant it...
LOL.
You are right about that. Nice catch tough.
*** “I dont see cave MAN on that list of Prey”***
Cave Bears pretty much stole that moniker, although they probably swapped recipes
A new Jurassic Park Movie is coming?
Thank you for writing the first response for me. How did you know exactly what I was going to write?
You are right. We saw it in our photography shop "Santa visit". One year they would be curious and stare at Santa. Next year, forget the Santa picture or photo-shop Santa in. Next year be fine. Sometimes the parents would threaten them before they arrived. You will sit with Santa and smile or no Santa visit this year. LOL
Isn’t that something. It’s all for the kid, and the parents turn it into water torture. LOL
A whale cut in half with one bite. Yike.
Yeah, I stay out of the ocean since the sixties. LI had a lot of sharks back then. I was on the beach one time when a guy had his leg bit off.
That did it for me.
But hey, the joke wasn’t that bad, lol, er ok. It was ;)
Thanks Red Badger. The late Loren Coleman speculated that the cave lion not only lived also in the Americas, but was still alive, accounting for at leas some of the cryptid cat sightings.
LOL!
And then there’s a Clonenado!

These are much better photos than what I saw earlier...just an upside down head. Puts some scale to it seeing the human hands there. Study it, most certainly. But why oh why do they even consider cloning it...there’s always some Dr. Moreau type out there that feels the need to play God.
Nice! Thanks for that.
Poor little creature. Sad.
I don’t think Loren Coleman is dead (??) Are you thinking of Ivan Sanderson?
Guess that will set my Woolly Mammoth hunting plans back a bit ... maybe they will have better luck with the kitty. Although, I don’t think it will do much good until the prey is cloned ...
