Sean Hannity was the friendliest possible interviewer that Roy Moore could have chosen to defend himself from accusations that he fondled a 14-year-old girl. Despite the host teeing up softballs for him, Moore flubbed his chance to put the controversy to rest, failing to completely deny dating teenage girls when in his 30s and claiming forgetfulness when trying to deny specific allegations.
The money quote:
"Let me ask you this, you do remember these girls? Would it be unusual for you as a 32-year-old guy to have dated a woman as young as 17? That would be a 15-year difference... or a girl 18. Do you remember dating girls that young at that time?" Hannity asked. "Not generally, no," Moore answered. "If did, you know, I'm not going to dispute anything but I don't remember anything like that."

LOL! Ah, I can hear it now.
We were 16 and 17. Our parents drove us to each other’s homes until he was 19, then he drove. That was 1975-1978 or so. We just passed 36 years.
Not sure he likes marriage so much, though.
i happen to NOT believe Judge Moore did this.
But since lots of guys have done it, or dream about doing it,
the commie/nazi/DNC people KNOW that ANYTIME they accuse a man of something like this, lots of folks will at least think it possible
this has to be the easiest and cheapest (and sleaziest) way to destroy a political candidate, QUICKLY
but anyway I don’t believe it and besides, after Obama’s and Clinton’s sex lives......anything Moore might have done 34 years ago pales by comparison.. But I still don’t believe it about the Judge. He just doesn’t impress me as that kind of guy
Why don’t we demand the then 14 year old the accuser and ask her
some tough questions before we conclude who is more believable?
Moore or his accuser.
What's your point? The only story that was really vile has been discounted as a member of the opposition. If the stories weren't important enough to pursue until they became political capital 40 years later, they are neither relevant nor credible.
These are attacks from people who think it’s okay for a guy to dress up like a gal and use the Women’s Restroom.
It is puzzling how unhinged Hannity is over this. I had to quit listening to him. He is ten times worse than MeAgain Kelly.
No, Fox should NOT cut Hannity loose.
I agree that he can be irritating the way he interrupts his guests and gives a monologue before asking a question, BUT he is the ONLY voice at Fox News that refuses to let Hillary Clinton slide on all of the federal laws she’s broken.
And he is the ONLY person at Fox News, delving into the Uranium One scandal with continual, investigative reports on what going on with that issue.
I prefer Laura Ingraham’s interview style too, but I don’t like how she can sound conservative and supportive of the president on Sean Hannity’s TV show, while sounding like an inside the beltway, RINO, when she’s on Bret Baier’s pundit panel.
Besides, you don’t get rid of one of the few conservative hosts just because you don’t like his interviewing style.
Hmmm, what was the age difference between Bill Clinton and Monica?
>> The judge did not do well <<
You should not be allowed to say something like that on FR.
That said, I was not impressed with Moore’s answers.
I can assure you that I would remember going out with a 17-18 year old girl if I was 32. I’ve had 100s of dates and I have no trouble recalling most every one of them. But there was that big of an age difference, I would certainly remember.
You may not like what I am saying but I am being honest. Additionally, there is no way I would have ever considered asking out a 17-18 year old when I was 32. So yeah, I would have remembered.
I hate all this has happened. I was planning to vote for Moore after Mo Brooks was defeated. I wish he would step aside but I wouldn’t want the person to be Luther Strange. The people that are really hurt here are the people of Alabama.
I, too, listened to the Hannity interview with Moore. Moore didn’t do well.
Can confirm.
Alabamian, female. Dated a guy who was 32 when I was 19. He was a musician of some small renown.
The young girls always fall in love with the boys in the band, to paraphrase Alabama. (The Band.)
When I was that age, the legal drinking age was 19, so there’s that.
Hannity seemed to be trying to paint Moore as guilty, even if subtly. This feels so disingenuous considering the long talk Hannity gave night before last about the concept of being innocent until proven guilty. Then last night he tag-teamed with Geraldo, who also seemed to want to portray Moore as guilty. I’m disappointed in Hannity. Love the man, but what he did wasn’t right. It wasn’t fair. He was not objective.
As for why Hannity did this, I think Hannity was upset that Moore won the Republican ticket rather than Strange, so there was a natural bias. Trump was for Strange. What Hannity did may have been unintentional, I’ll give him that, but Hannity is a professional - he should have the ability to be objective.
I agree with the person who said this attack on Moore would only help him. With the timing just a few weeks out from the election on whether something did or didn’t happen several decades ago, most people understand that this is a blatantly obvious dirty trick. Judge Moore has been in the public eye for donkeys’ years and there has been ample opportunity for any one of his accusers to come forward over the years. I’m glad he’s fighting this. But if he gives up and drops out, I will be disappointed, not so much in Moore, but in those who didn’t give him a fair shake.
I, too, listened to the Hannity interview with Moore. Moore didnt do well.
It’s sometimes hard being honest here.
We give Moore credit for remember everything about the Constitution but he cannot remember if he asked out a high school girl when he was in his 30s?
I can assure you that I would remember that. I am personally creeped out a little over an adult man asking out a high school girl. In 1979, this just didn’t happen. Also, intellectually, why would a 32 year old man want to be around a 17 year old girl? That just creeps me out.
For years, real sex crimes by Democrats have been covered up and this is supposed to be a big deal?
He is not going to step aside.
Nor should he.
And if you are going to judge his truthfulness based on a live interview,
the credible response would be to demand the accuser submit to a live
interview as well, to judge her truthfulness to questions..
Yet u don’t do that. You base your opinion on a one sided interview.
As such, your opinion does not carry much weight.
Exactly. In the interviewing he bobbed and weaved about how he “wouldn’t” have done the things he was accused of doing - that’s a qualifying statement that doesn’t make an allegation untrue. We can all do things that do live up to our own standards...but either it happened or it didn’t happen. He defended himself very poorly with a very friendly interviewer who actually kept going out of his way to help him flatly deny certain things and he kept trying to go into long winded explanations when there is nothing to explain. And some people here blame Hannity for Moore’s own poor performance.
It's amazing the sudden standards liberals in the media, Democrats and Republican establishment types have now.
If you were in your 30s and you don’t remember asking out a 17 year old high school girl or kissing her, I would consider you mentally challenged.
If you’re a 32 year old man asking out high school girls, I would also consider you a bit creepy. Intellectually, there is no way I could handle being in a dating relationship with a high school girl. I damned sure would be able to remember that.
