Donald Trumps grip on the Republican Party is so secure that his enemies draw a warm bath and open their veins rather than face the violent death that awaits them in their primaries. Thats the real meaning of Jeff Flakes act of political seppuku this week. His speech from the Senate floor about the need to defend democratic norms is not the beginning of some heroic Republican resistance, the opening salvo of a civil warbecause Flake has no army. Bob Corker has no army. John McCain and Mitt Romney and George W. Bush have no armies. It cant be a civil war when all the troops are on one side: Trumps.
Trump was a celebrity, and hes an instinctively gifted campaigner. He spoke political truths, however crudely, that the public longed to hear. But thats the point: they longed to hear what Trump had to say about Americas raw deals and the wars we dont win any more because no one in the political establishment of either party dared to voice such thoughts. Execrable leadership by respectable Republicans and Democrats created the conditions that led to Trump

Don’t get me wrong, Cruz is better than most, but never forget, Cruz can not stay in the political game without the big money from his rich donor class. He has no choice except follow their orders to push their agenda. In the 2016 campaign Cruz received $40 million from just 3 or 4 very rich donors. If you combine all the donations to him from Freepers, it perhaps won’t add up to 1 million.
Very well said. The audacity of their evil plan!... and of their elitist conspiracy to hide it from us!
In another age they would all be hung for their treason.
This story is indeed, fine and true political commentary. PING! Thanks for posting.
If we picked Cruz, we probably lose the Senate & definitely lose The White House!
Do you really think those 2X Obama voters would've voted for Cruz in PA, MI or WI? LOL
lol...... he bought it for pennies on the dollar..... “The Art of the Deal”
Nice GodFather II reference ....
Great last thought at the end of the article. Thanks for posting
Next year, if the UraniumGate and DossierGate scandals bring down the Democrat Party leadership (Obama, Clintons, Perez, Holder, Lynch, Podesta, etc)., then 2018 might be an even bigger election surprise than looms right now.
Flake is going. Corker is going (been off his Corker for years). McCain will probably die or go off into oblivion. Manchin will lose.
Nunez will rise. Cruz may rise. Gowty may rise, and new blood may come in, hopefully in the form of combat veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan, etc.
Out with the Old (garbage). In with Americans who put loyalty to the country first, before the Party. This is what will differentiate them from the Democrats, who, like Good Germans and Good Commies, always put the “party” first and the people last.
Later, thanks
Amen.
Cruz is doubly disqualified, he was born in a foreign country to a foreign national father.
for me waking up on the bushes had to do with George seniors embracing the Clinton foundation. I then started to dig deeper into the bush family and realized they were as corrupt as the Clintons but were better at hiding there corruption because of there families involvement in corruption had started with Prescott bush George seniors father.
Yet BO’B worked around that small difficulty, as well. With help from his d’rat friends in the DNC OF COURSE! Cruz just might have or had the same exact plan (using his RNC instead of DNC) Only thing that saved US from the Canadian was TRUMP, God bless him. PS...this might have been, yet most know Cruz is despised on Capitol hill. Would he have been too despised...more than Trump, Less?? We may never know. Now Water under the bridge.

Hope you did not think I was supporting Cruz in 2016.
Besides being on both sides of the cheap labor express,
my main reason was as you described, there was no chance
Cruz could defeat Hillary. Only Trump had the personality, self-financing and THE CROWDS. I saw the crowds first hand in Everett, WA, which is liberal majority area.
