The social media service barred Stone after he unleashed an expletive-filled tirade on Friday aimed at CNN commentators.

In a tweet addressed to anchor Don Lemon, Stone wrote: ‘There are no credible “fact checks” that clear the Clintons on uranium. Even the people at CNN say you are a buffoon behind your back.’

Stone was referring to the sale of American uranium to a Russian government-backed company during Hillary Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state under President Barack Obama.....

No, they’re claiming that he is too threatening because he said that news media that lie should be punished. He said Don Lemon should be “confronted, humiliated, mocked and punished”

That was apparently interpreted as a “threat”. Here’s what Twitter said:

“‘We believe in freedom of expression and in speaking truth to power, but that means little as an underlying philosophy if voices are silenced because people are afraid to speak up,’ the spokesperson said.

I guess if news entities think that they might be humiliated if they lie, it will make them “afraid to speak up”, so Twitter has to silence the ones who might humiliate them.

Twisted logic.

That's what I was thinking. I personally have had both my "Discuss" and "Twitter" banned several times (once for referring to Michelle Obama as a wookie, apparently the lib mods didn't like that). Each time I would just create a new account and be back to posting 10 minutes later (with ironically the exact same screen name or something very similar).

Now of course I'm not a public figure like Roger Stone, which twitter might track more closely, especially if a brand user named Roger_Stone_Isback suddenly appeared...

“‘We believe in freedom of expression and in speaking truth to power, but that means little as an underlying philosophy if voices are silenced because people are afraid to speak up,’ the spokesperson said.

So Roger Stone speaks truth to power, and *this* is the reason Twitter bans him? Truly, liberalism *is* a mental disorder.

I can see a temporary suspension for using foul language. But censoring because of ideas, because someone speaks up for truth, is extremely troubling.

There is always Gab. Although Gab is billing itself as totally uncensored, and seems to be going the direction of 4chan. My son loves Gab.

At what point does a private communications service become a public utility?

If the old man had been face to face with those CNN guys, in Texas them would be fightin’ words.

Despite what you think of someone personally, if you want to be considered to be a competent spokesman on a national basis on behalf of your friend, you can’t use public media like this.

Stone probably doesn’t care, or doesn’t regret his words. I personally don’t care if he’s on Twitter or not.

Well, Lemon is Gay and that’s what they do. Not saying it’s strictly a Gay activity, but it is what it is.

It’s like calling Obama a Mulatto. People take offense, but it is the descriptive name for a Mixed Race person.

I guess he could have Lemon a Lying Lewinsky. LOL
