No, his ties are to the Mormon Church. He’s been trying to do their bidding with respect to illegal immigration. He can’t use it personally, but he can keep it as campaign money indefinitely in case he wants to run for something in the future.

It’s typical to turn the money over to the political party apparatus, and it could be donated to a favorite charity or spread out among other candidates.
