What do the campaign finance laws say? Does he have to return any money at all?
I’m thinking he doesn’t HAVE to, but he’s such an “honorable man” he’ll return the money to donors-—NOT!
He does *not* have to return the money.
But, it does have some strings on it. He cannot simply use it to buy vacations to Monoco.
I believe it must be used for political campaigns.
He can’t use it personally, but he can keep it as campaign money indefinitely in case he wants to run for something in the future.
It’s typical to turn the money over to the political party apparatus, and it could be donated to a favorite charity or spread out among other candidates.
Laws?
Surely you jest.
Senators make laws they are not required to follow.
