A second woman has accused former President George H.W. Bush of groping her.
Jordan Grolnick, a New York actress, said that she has a similar story to the one Heather Lind shared about the former president fondling her during a photo op, according to Deadspin.
Bush apologized through a spokesman in a statement earlier Wednesday. The statement said that on occasion, he has patted womens rears in what he intended to be a good-natured manner and routinely tells a joke.
To anyone he has offended, President Bush apologizes most sincerely, the statement said.
Lind wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post reported by The Daily Mail on Tuesday that Bush "assaulted me while posing for a... photo."
"When I got the chance to meet George H. W. Bush four years ago to promote a historical television show I was working on, he sexually assaulted me while I was posing for a similar photo. He didnt shake my hand. He touched me from behind from his wheelchair with his wife Barbara Bush by his side. He told me a dirty joke, Lind wrote.
Harassed by a senile old man in a wheelchair.
Let the old guy have one last pat before he hits the grave. It’s not like he stuck a cigar in someone.
Explains why the Bushes get along so well with the Clintons
“Grope chic”... it’s the fashion these days...
“Are the communist women warming up for a run at The Donald?” I guess you missed the news of the last 18 months - been there tried that- failed.
Part of the left’s continual attacks. Statues, Russia, whatever. He shouldn’t have done these things. If he did though.
That middle picture is pretty hilarious.
” Most people dont believe a 93 year old man in a wheel chair is intentionally trying to grope women.”
He admitted it and apologized.
“.....his arm is around their rear. I realize thats where his arm level is in a wheelchair, but it should be in has lap or used to shake hands.”
“his arm level is in a wheelchair” EXACTLY! PERFECT opportunity to be a serial groper.
“I just wanted to put my arm around her waist, but her A$$ was right there!
Just in time!
HW Bush and his involvement in the JFK murder to be in the news for a few days
Do I believe GHW Bush grabbed her in an inappropriate way? Yes I do. He would not have apologized if he had not, or if her claims were not backed up by other witnesses. I think part of what she demanded was a public apology, and Bush complied.
I think the Weinstein fallout in the 24/7 news cycle did have an affect on women who were sexually abused or attacked. How could if have not? Memories are rubbed raw by the reminders.
There are a couple of factors at work. GHW Bush is 93. My wife used to do care for elderly patients, and she said that at that age, sometimes "their filter" is gone. She had male patients who used to regularly grab nurses and expose themselves. It happens. Has GHW Bush lost all his faculties? I don't know.
But that does not lessen the pain for women who are victims of this stuff. And before people that think that every woman who comes forward and has an agenda, I would say stop for one second and ask if you would want this to happen to your mom, wife, sister, or daughter.
I had a girlfriend years back whose boss grabbed her. And it wasn't just "pinching her butt." Because of the geographic proximity of human anatomy, his fingers went into a very intimate place when he did so. This the nature of men who grope. It was a terrible experience for her.
GHW Bush may have done the same thing to that woman. No cheerleaders have not yet come forward, but even if he did grab their private areas (as it looks like in one of the photos), I doubt they would. There would be too much pressure from the Texans and other parties for them to keep silent. Plus, people would say they were dressed in very sexy clothing in an effort to shame them.
I need more DETAILS! Was it a “pat”? a rub? a pinch? a fondle? a goose? a laying on of hands?
I mean, IT MATTERS!
True statement.
I lost respect for the "feminist movement" long ago. For one thing, men suffer every bit as much injustice as do women (though the hysterical are blind to this). And when they came up with the harebrained claim that saying "You look nice today" or "That's a pretty dress" is sexual harassment for which monetary compensation is deserved, they lost me and all honest people.
On the other hand, the Bushes, whom I once admired, and whom I worked hard to elect, have dropped light-years in my estimation and respect. I thought that at least they were people of integrity, despite perhaps an occasional lapse in judgment or so. But now it appears that they are down in the gutter with the Clintons, the Obamas, and the worst of the politicians and evidently have been all along. I really wonder if they can see this--where they are and what they are standing for.
You can bet this woman won’t be the last. This will go on and on all Winter long.
My elderly father has to flirt with every waitress on the planet. Very embarrassing sometimes.
One wonders if he actually needs that wheelchair. It certainly makes butt groping a lot easier for the old coot.
