HOUSTON (KABC) -- The Dodgers will face the Astros in this year's World Series, after Houston took down the New York Yankees in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series.
The Astros' 4-0 victory Saturday sets up a World Series between one team, Los Angeles, looking to take its seventh championship title and another still yearning for its first.
The Astros have only played in one World Series previously, losing to the Chicago White Sox in 2005. For that matter, no team from Texas has ever won baseball's ultimate prize.
"This city man, they deserve this," said Houston pitcher Lance McCullers, Jr. shortly after the last inning. "This is awesome."
The Dodgers are looking forward to the matchup.

What a FUN series to watch - if the World Series is half as good, it will be some great baseball.

Colt .45s going to WS.
I went to the Colt 45 games a Lot. A kid could get tickets for free. After they became the Astros, the old stadium was still in the parking lot for several years. They then took it apart and it was moved down South, Mexico or South America(I forget where).

They had two more days to prepare That could be their downfall. It's happened way too many times, one team blows through the opposition then ends up sitting around & around & around for a week+ and gets cold while the other team fights it out to the bitter end and are still fresh for the World Series.

My one World Series game I got to attend was the 3rd game 1963—Dodgers vs Yankees. Don Drysdale shut them out 1-0. Field Box seat. Cost a whopping $16.

I’m an SF Giants fan, so of course I’m rooting for the Astros. Can’t stand them, and particularly that jerk Puig. Go Astros!

Happened to the Dodgers waiting for the Diamondbacks and Cubs, who played much better ball than Dodgers in September. Then the Dodgers blew by both of them. But you could be correct.

I never made it to a World Series game. But back in the 60's I used to go to as many as 3 games a week. Outfield seats were only 50 cents for 14 and under. Not much more for adults. And you could bring picnic baskets of food and drinks.
My have times changed.

Houston dominated? You’re nuts. It was a 7 game series. They barely made it to the next round you fool.

Wow...are you in the club room or club/bar with the Astros, right now?
Just because they’ve popped open a bunch of bottles of cheap champagne, to celebrate this YUGE win, means they’re ‘getting very drunk’ right now?
Geez.

It was an awesome series. Astros were amazing to watch. Even Yanks coach Girardi is extremely impressed with this fine team.

Dodgers vs. Yankees: perfect for advertisers. Dodgers vs. Astros: perfect for baseball statisticians. Two baseball nerds successfully built the Dodgers and Astros. Go nerds. Humbling to watch baseball at the highest level of pure skill. Roberts is a minor league manager running a top rate Dodger club. Hinch is a pro manager following the wise counsel of statisticians. Joy belongs to watching both Kershaw and Verlander work. Jansen is twice as good as Mariano Rivera. Justin Turner is up there with Ruth and Gehrig. Vin Scully must make an appearance next week.

After 43 years to win their first NL championship, Houston needed only 5 years to master the American League.

Not so fast! Morton and McCullers have set up Astros pitching perfectly. And now it’s clear they have four effective starters. Go Astros!
