Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has declared the city of Marawi "liberated" from militants, even as fighting continues... Mr Duterte's declaration came a day after the army said they had killed top militants Isnilon Hapilon and Omar Maute. The two men led the Abu Sayyaf and Maute groups which formed part of the insurgency in Marawi. Both groups have pledged allegiance to, or have links to, IS.

Find out who all their members are, hunt them down, and kill them.
That’s the most simplistic view of marcos I ever heard. Let me introduce you to my wife’s family and you can educate them.
“Thats the most simplistic view of marcos I ever heard. Let me introduce you to my wifes family and you can educate them.”
I know a *lot* of Filipinos. I also know there was a lot of fake news about Marcos. I spent quite a bit of time over there when Marcos was in power, and a bit less than that after he was run out of office.
Don’t act like I’m the only one who holds the opinion I expressed.
my wife’s mother was asocial friend of Imelda and her husband played golf with Marcos. he was our CIA butt boy. If you’ve been to manila ask yourself what did he do with the billions we gave him for basis and loyalty. Was it a betlway freeway around the city, was it public housing and demolish the slums, a new university, hospitals, or was it real estate in midtown manhattan with his and his wife’s name on the deed. his martial law was oppressive down through the high schools. Now go listen to stories from your fiords who know what they real deal was and what a great man he was. Bullshit!.
my wifes mother was asocial friend of Imelda and her husband played golf with Marcos.
So, he was their Harvey Weinstein, eh?
he was our CIA butt boy.
That doesnt have the same connotations here that it does among leftards. In fact, it doesnt bother me at all.
If youve been to manila ask yourself what he did with the billions we gave him for bases and loyalty.
Oh, my goodness. A strong man who took care of his own exit strategy. Im shocked, shocked I tell you, to hear that he was not perfect in all ways.
I never once heard a Filipino complain that Marcos was corrupt. The universal complaint was that the corruption was reserved for Marcos buddies in Ilocos del Norte, and they werent getting a share.
his martial law was oppressive down through the high schools.
His martial law, which I know well, first hand, saved the Republic of the Philippines from succumbing to the commies or the muzzies, or being split between them. Whatever Marcos might have done wrong, it was farging **nothing** compared to what the commies or the muzzies would have done. If he had not taken power and slapped them down, the Philippines would be a pathetic charnel house today.
Now go listen to stories from your fiords who know what they real deal was and what a great man he was. Bullshit!
Firstly, I didnt say he was a great man. Secondly, it sounds like your knowledge of Ferdinand Marcos is limited to the leftist narrative, so carabao shit to you.
my wifes mother was asocial friend of Imelda and her husband played golf with Marcos.
So, he was their Harvey Weinstein, eh?
FU we’re done.
So, you can dish it out, but not take it.
FU2
Most great men are also bad men.
Marcos may have saved the Philippines from the communist but he was still not a good man.
Most of my wife’s family here except for distant cousins. Marcos a part of their decision. Look at Manilla today and asked yourself where did those billions go.
“Every direction I looked, for as far as I could see, there were construction cranes everywhere, so its growing well.”
I’m happy for the people, but nostalgic for the Manila I knew.
I dont know what it was like in the past, but its pretty nice now. Mall of Asia is nice. It has the only ice skating rink in the Philippines, so I went ice skating there. I will be there next week. I will enjoy it FOR you. 🇵🇭😀😆😄😁
If we truly war without conquest (which we do), then we need to let go of the Philippines.
We helped them in WW2, but that was 65 years ago ... we don't own them.
You speak the truth.
Being married to a Filipina, I learned of Duterte before even HE was elected, as Mayor of Davao City and the "rumors" of death squads.
A study on Duterte, even reading Wiki, will reveal he is a tough, law and order man, speaks his peace and never wavers from what he says.
"If you bring drugs into my country, I will kill you."
And he does.
A HUGE percentage of Filipinos flat out LOVE Duterte ... it’ll never happen.
“A HUGE percentage of Filipinos flat out LOVE Duterte ... itll never happen.”
Good. The left has no business dragging elected officials down.
” I will enjoy it FOR you.”
Still lots of commies and muzzies around, I hear.
Keep your head on a swivel.
