How climate change is "turning up the dial" on California wildfires
CBS "News" ^ | October 13, 2017 | By STEFAN BECKET

The deadly wildfires ravaging northern California have destroyed more than 3,500 homes and businesses, leveling entire neighborhoods and forcing thousands of residents to flee the flames.

Experts say fires like those burning up California wine country will be more frequent, more intense and last longer as global temperatures rise. While no single fire can be said to have been caused by climate change, variations in temperature and precipitation are already affecting the complex dynamics that determine how wildfires develop and spread.

California Gov. Jerry Brown laid the blame squarely at the feet of climate change on Wednesday.

"With a warming climate, dry weather and reducing moisture, these kinds of catastrophes have happened and will continue to happen and we have to be ready to mitigate, and it's going to cost a lot of money," Brown said.

Scientists and fire experts back up that claim. They point to an alarming increase in the severity and frequency of wildfires in the West over the past several years, warning that the problem is only going to get worse.

"When we step back and look at the whole West, fires are increasing everywhere at different rates," said LeRoy Wankerling, professor of management at the University of California, Merced who studies how climate affects wildfires. "The goose is cooked in someplace like Yellowstone. The frequency of fires is expected to increase so much, and the ecosystem is really going to change."

A big reason why these wildfires spread so quickly is because of very low humidity ... but water vapor is a major “greenhouse gas” ... whatever shall we do?

Hmmmm..... How about alternative explanations

<>Banning controlled burns
<>Limiting/Eliminating logging
<>Not having defensible space around structures
<>Wildfires have happened since the start of time

Here is Colorado there are “fire wise” and “defensible space” procedures to save life and properties. People are allowed to clear flammable accumulations to prevent fire.

Globull warming prediction - Mexifornia is in a permanent drought.

Reality - Mexifornia has periodic droughts and last winter was very wet and a drought buster.

What happens in Mexifornia when you have a very wet winter and spring? A very bad summer and fall fire season.

It has all happened before, will happen again and has nothing to do with the Climate Hoax designed to hurt America.

Perhaps the Global Climate Alarmists would have a tad more credibility if they did not blame EVERY SINGLE BAD WEATHER EVENT on Global Warming.

After Hurricane Katrina (a Category 2 storm that caused devastation only because of where it happened to hit) they promised that we could expect bigger and more frequent hurricanes to hit the US every year. We then went through a record 10 year period without a single Category 3 or higher hurricane hitting anywhere in the U.S. That was just weather, not evidence that their models were wrong. Meanwhile, every Category 1 hurricane or tropical storm that did hit was blamed on Global Warming.

Now, we have finally returned to normal hurricane activity. But every hurricane is now called the worst in the history of mankind because of Global Warming.

If anything, the ash and particulate will block out the Sun a bit more and cause cooling and provide the vehicle for water vapor to condense upon (becoming rain and clouds).

I was going to go there and say that I’m willing to bet that policy changes are the rut cause of these fires...but it’s hard to blame the Dems for doing such - they get to ‘clear the land’ of development and blame it on the Republicans at the same time.
