I can’t see that happening. There is far too much traffic going in & out of Vegas hotels, including from conventions & trade shows.

Ah, when will someone think about a new TSA force to be deployed at public venues and hotels. The Left will love it. These are Wynn properties. Hope his ideas don’t spread.

Give up liberty for security....get neither.

Doubt it will put much of a dent in Vegas hotel business...except maybe for SHOT, or TREXPO, any number of firearms related shows or events.

I still find it unbelievable that the firing was confined to 10 minutes. Paddock certainly planned on more than that.

Wonder how many casings they'll find.

Is it actually illegal, or against hotel/motel rules, to be armed in the hotels/motels?

I think Nevada law, like many there states, allows for deadly force in defense of an illegal entry of your residence or domicile, which includes hotel rooms. Legal question is can a hotel ban guests from having self defense firearms to protect themselves in their room?

One of my rules in life is that I'll never go through an invasive screening process for anything discretionary.

In my line of work and in my life, that means the only place where I'll do this sort of thing right now is: (1) for business-related airline travel (maybe once a year), and (2) business meetings in government buildings (maybe 3-4 times a year).

To be effective, it would need to be done nationwide at all high-rises, apartments included.

TSA everywhere. Oh yay.

If implemented, will be about as effective as TSA (Theater of Security at Airports) — in other words not at all...

For a while, then they will stop. Doing it now is an emotional reaction to the murders. Not a good reason for doing something.

Right after 9/11 the Bellagio was screening every Car going into their Parking Garage. They screened mine.

The Protocol will apply to Luggage. Very easy to wand a Bag, either at the entrance or by the Elevator Lobbies without causing too much trouble.

I think the Hotel Guests would be just fine with it.

So every hotel over 10 stories in major population centers will have airport style security?

And the whole thing with Vegas is customer service, privacy, not customer searches, scans, x-rays, shakedowns etc. That’s not going to go well.

I was chuckling at this thread on a basement dweller anon site...I was looking more for entertainment and saw this

About half way down on Sept 11th, someone posts:

look i feel bad for some of you on this website. so i'll let you in on a little secret. if you live in las vegas or henderson stay inside tomorrow. don't go anywhere where there are large groups of people. also if you see three blacks vans parked next to each other immediately leave the area. you're welcome
-john

Further down on the same date they conitnue:

it's called the "high incident project". they want to make the american public think that places with extremely high security aren't safe. they are trying to create more regulations. you will see laws proposed within the next few years to put up more metal detectors and other security devices. media and politicians will be saying places with lots of police need even more police. i can't guarantee anything will happen tomorrow but las vegas is on their minds. -john

if their plan is successful state of nevada will pass a law in the future making all casinos have mandatory metal detectors and backscatter machines. soon after a federal law will be passed to put these machines in universities, high schools, federal buildings, you name it. osi systems and chertoff are the main producers of these machines. sometime around 2020 chertoff and osi will merge into a single company. after they merge the owners will sell off all their stock and make billions in profit. mr chertoff has been in contact with sheldon adelson. mr adelson will become a huge sponsor of these machines and he will be the first to put them in his casinos when the law passes. this is my last message for now. don't expect me to return anytime soon -john

I don't put stock in this type of stuff and nothing happened on Sept 12 that I know of, but putting it here because it fits with the topic.
