Could a terrorist have modified a semi-auto AK to go full-auto? Not a professional gunsmithing job - just enough to make it work full-auto but the rate of fire might be different from that of a rifle that was assembled with all the right parts in the factory?

Could one of those “bump fire” gimmicks have been used?

Just got this from a reporter at UMCSN:

I have seen a handful of citizens speed-walking away from trauma center. Color drained from faces. Scrambling on their cell phones.

UMC staff told parent Angelica Ortiz, 36, trauma beds are FULL, Ortiz said. (She just left ER for SEPARATE reason—son had allergic reaction)

Additional calls are being sent to Sunrise Hospital, which also has a trauma center.

Fire dispatch logs show dozens of medical calls.

I just shared a cigarette w/ 1 trauma & 1 ER nurse. Both shaken. “We are stacked right now. I don’t think we’ve ever had anything like this”

ER nurse who said that has worked at UMC for 10 years. Trauma nurse just kept saying, “Jesus.” No estimate but multiple people shot.

Trauma nurse phoned a loved one. Got on ground, head down, took deep breaths. More & more staff wearing scrubs keep filing in UMC entrances

Growing group of citizens gathering near trauma entrance. Many on phones. Many crying. 1 woman screaming, “I don’t know, I don’t know”

Nurses said this all began w/ pair of officers running into UMC trauma entrance, helping carry a woman who was shot. Then, rush of patients

rsbn is showing a handheld recording of automatic fire on the crowd with the building in the background. There’s no visible muzzle flashes from what I can tell. Is that to be expected especially at night?

There was a guy interviewed on Fox News who said it was a sanctuary city, a lot of people running around with crazy ideas in their heads, he wasn’t surprised something like this happened.

Could be Jihadi, could be BLM, could be Dreamer.

There are 100, 150 and 200 round drums for the AR platform rifles and drums as high as 75 for the major 7.62 NATO rifles. Ex-Soviet rifles could have 75 or 150 round drums.

This didn’t sound like an automatic rifle and the long pauses don’t lend themselves to a drum reload either.

RSN ran a video from a camera aimed right at Mandalay during the long bursts.

I watched the vid carefully but saw no muzzle flashes or gunsmoke coming from the tower anywhere during the rat-tat-tats. It was a pretty sharp image too.

The rounds are linked together with metal clips into long “belts”. As a round is fired, the next round is fed into the chamber to be fired.

Could be a hundred round barrel?
