The Paris attack involved automatic rifles using magazines, for example, not a belt fed machine gun.

I'm no expert, but a Tommy Gun drum is 50 round capacity, and I'm not aware of a higher capacity commercial civilian rifle.

I couldn't really count, but I'd bet there were 2 bursts of more than 50 rounds in this attack.

Effectiveness of their chosen weapon. If they don’t care about getting away, firing a belt fed machine gun from an elevated position into a crowd is going to increase the effectiveness of their attack immensely as even rounds ricocheting off the pavement at angles could take out even more people, as could rounds passing through multiple bodies at a downward slant.

My personal guess, based on the limited laudio I’ve heard tonight, is that several shooters from different locations used magazine-fed automatic rifles.

Maybe. Did the cops in Colorado recover the hardware recently stolen from "Dragonman"? IIRC, a machine-gun was among the firearms that were taken.

Listening to the Drew Akioshi video on Twitter, I timed on a stopwatch three bursts of ten seconds each separated by significant breaks. Sounded like somewhere around 500 rounds per minute.

So it could have been 50 round magazines being changed out. Or, belt fed and letting it cool between bursts.
