The NFL has seen major backlash after mass national anthem protests last Sunday. Fans are burning jerseys, sponsors are dropping players, and ratings are down. The protest was sparked by President Trump saying the anthem protesters should be fired. Some entire teams sat out the anthem last Sunday as the protests escalated to new levels.
There have been many responses to the outcry. Many Americans on both sides are angry. Now, one of the NFL's biggest and most well-known sponsors, Anheuser-Busch, has weighed in on the controversy.
In an official statement to IJR, Anheuser-Busch said the company supports free speech:
At Anheuser-Busch we have a long heritage of supporting the institutions and values that have made America so strong. That includes our armed forces and the national anthem as well as diversity, equality and freedom of speech. We proudly employ over 1,100 military veterans and we work every day to create an inclusive environment for all of our employees. Because only together can we achieve our dream of bringing people together for a better world.
We have many long-term sports partnerships, including our NFL sponsorship, and while we may not agree on everything, we still believe in the power of sport to bring people together and overcome their differences.
Thank you.
So if you want to swear off Bud (for political reasons, not because it's crap beer), you might want to look at these other brands as well:

Weasel words from weaselly cowards.
Not amazing.
Dubbel & Tripel are not brands of beer - they are formula styles of Belgian tradition.
I seldom drink bud, I prefere IPAs. Now I will never drink bud again. Anit-American cowards!
It’s the very same response we all got who complained at the web site.
They DO NOT directly address this controversy.
Not to us anyway.
But you can bet your bottom dollar the networks and the NFL have heard from them.
Budweiser is seen as an all American brand. And they are now associated with an anti-American NFL.
That will last no more than 10 more days. Tops.
If things are not completely cleaned up this weekend, I predict Bud is OUT.
That was an utterly useless press release from Budweiser.
Why bother?
Well, no more Budweiser for me.
These guys have no more clue than the players and the league.
I prefer American beer. FUBud
Nice that Amstel and Stella are not on the list.
So many of the players, management, an sponsors are so insulated from the regular folks the have no idea as to what is going on.
Wondered When Budweiser would chime in.
Seems this idiocy would go against the grain of

I swore off Bud 40 years ago, so now I can only “symbolically” boycott!

You got that right! A lot of words to say absolutely nothing of consequence. Fail.
Amazing. Amazing’ how he just straddled the fence. Well you saw the list guys, boycott these clowns. Coincidentally, I have never drank Bud for the past 10 + years. If I wanted to drink special water, Bud would be my 50th choice. .
While not on purpose, I have not consumed a Bud/InBev product in over 35 years.
A European company I believe. MAGA! No Bud, Light or Heavy.
The statement is that Anheiser-Busch “supports the military”.
The implication is left ambiguous.
Maybe the Busch Co. is hoping they don’t have to get any more specific than this.
Most viewers are thinking; “So are you going to pull your commercials from NFL Games while the kneeling continues or not?”
