The U.S. needs military officers who are skilled and intellectually curious and predisposed to challenging groupthink. Correspondingly, the Army shouldn't overreact in punishing 2nd Lt. Spenser Rapone for his apparent endorsement of communism.

Spenser for court martial.
The media should not over-react to President Trump. We need politicians with diverse ideas and not just Liberal mouth-breathers.
Or is that just crazy talk?
Based on being “made aware” of the truth, Tom Rogan added an Update in which he attempts to walk back his column that gives aid and comfort to the enemy.
Do you have to be an idiot to work for a newspaper, or does working for a newspaper just drain your brain away?
Conduct unbecoming! You're outta there!
Hurting his career?
When you join the Armed Forces, you are asked directly if you support the violent overthrow of the United States or if you support groups that do. It seems to me that this guy lied when he answered this question. He needs to be discharged, ASAP.
Update from Author: Since writing this article I have been made aware of other posts in which Rapone appears to engage in direct personal attacks on the President, Vice-President ,and Secretary of Defense. Such actions are incompatible with the principle of unity of command and far more serious than the photo tweets as outlined below. I stand by my comments in relation to the photo tweets, but accept that more serious UCMJ action may be necessary in relation to the personal attacks.
Rogan is thinking straight again.
Communists defending communists?
I’d give him a choice... Firing squad or hanging.
IOW,it never would have occurred to me in a million years to believe that Communism would win.And I was only a SP5.
I would think that such a thought would be even less likely to cross the mind of an *officer* in the United States Armed Forces.
I say court martial..."conduct unbecoming"...at the VERY least.
They missed the gross insubordination.
The Lt. should hope he gets away with a few years in Leavenworth, forfeiture of pay and benefits, and a Dishonorable Discharge.
Wonder whose side Rapone would be on in any conflict? Certainly not America’s! Traitors everywhere. America was foolish enough to elect a former president who hated America so I suppose this shouldn’t be a shock.

The author thinks the U.S. Army "needs" officers like Lt. Rapone. Remember.... this article was published by an establishment republican media outlet, The Washington Examiner.
I agree.
The death penalty would be an overreaction, but he should be kicked out of the Army and any degree that he received should be rescinded.
If his career has been hurt, it’s his own damn fault.
He ABSOLUTELY should not have a career. Personally, if I was still on active duty, I would refuse to follow or obey any ORDER HE GAVE.
Bring on the courts-martial, then, for both of us!
This is the swamp talking.
