Three Democratic congressmen arrested at Trump Tower protest

Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Three Democratic congressmen were arrested outside Trump Tower in New York City while protesting for immigrants' rights.

Reps. Raúl M. Grijalva of Arizona, Luis V. Gutierrez of Illinois and Adriano Espaillat of New York were arrested on civil disobedience charges. Melissa Mark-Viverito, speaker of the New York City Council, and six other protesters were also arrested.

"I stood in front of Trump Tower today with a whole lot of DREAMers, immigrants and Americans to say enough to Trump and his criminalization of our immigrant communities," Grijalva wrote on his official Facebook page.

In a statement, Guttierez said protesters were urging Trump to reverse his decision to end the Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals program, which allows undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children to stay in the country under certain circumstances.

"We're taking the necessary steps to make it clear to President Trump, the Republicans and the Democrats that we will continue this peaceful fight for Dreamers and immigrants as long as it takes to enact legislation and put Dreamers in a safe place," Gutierrez said.

It’s sickening and sad that a POS like Raul Grijalva becomes the most well known person from Tucson.

He spent most of the 1970s being a belligerent jerk at TUSD meetings, routinely terrorized people at those meetings before he was elected to school district, and constantly made threats and cheap attempts at intimidation to pretty much anyone who got in his way.

In short, he’s a Mexican thug. He was also an original member of the Tucson chapter of the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (MEChA)which is just a violent Mexican Separatist organization as you probably know, and also was part of the Brown Berets de Aztlan.

In the early 70’s he was basically on every police list in Arizona. My father, a government attorney, couldn’t believe it when he was elected to Congress - he remembered investigations starring this guy.

So he’s still acting out in character - relentlessness and bullying in an effort to intimidate and silence opposition.

He must be terrified by Trump. A gringo who doesn’t back down? They haven’t seen that since Dwight Eisenhower and Joe Swing.

The idea that this dimwitted, violent blob of a human could somehow be called an “American” and sit in our Congress is so repugnant, it calls into question our entire nation.

And it’s sickening that he “represents” the area I grew up in.
