WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday said so-called “chain migration,” a term often used to refer to citizens or permanent residents sponsoring relatives or the clustering of certain immigrants in the same areas, cannot be included in any immigration legislation.

“CHAIN MIGRATION cannot be allowed to be part of any legislation on Immigration!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

very short article, not worth the clickthru, but wanted to highlight the tweet.

We just can't be bringing entire villages over because they are related by cousins and such

This amnesty will encourage more later, it always works that way. Just another empty campaign promise by the wayside.

How do we deport the parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. once we give a pass to the DACA group (who are not kids anymore)?

Bring in the in-laws, the out-laws, the cousins, the aunts, the uncles, the grandparents, the great grandparents, the nephews, the nieces, the niece’s lesbian lover along with her in-laws, out-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, great grandparents, neighbors, dogs, cats, dog walkers and hair stylists to rinse and repeat.

This would create a new class of citizen that does not result in chain immigration? It doesn’t make sense.

Too funny! Breitbart puts up an article on chain migration and he’s right behind it with a tweet. Yeah,Kelley’s controlling him alright.

Illegal immigration is the sin of the parents, not the government, and not the people of America. It’s about time DACA people woke up to that little reality.

We deport the parents, etc the same way they got here - over the border. If any DACA want to join them, that’s their privilege. Mexico awaits, with free health care and job preference for English speakers. Not sure about the rest of Central America, but it’s up to them to resettle their ‘dual’ citizens.

And who said we’re giving a pass to every DACA? I’ve seen nothing to substantiate that other than Pelosi’s delusions.

sure it does. One application, one individual. Not, one application, an entire town. And this is just as much for our Hispanic neighbors as it is for our lovely Islamic clans. And bearing in mind, that many of these wonderful folks have absolutely no documentation to prove they really are related. (Just as some illegals crossing with minor children have no documentation to even prove they are the parents of said child or that they have permission of the other missing parent to have the child with them)

Looks like Obama’s only mistake was not including every illegal alien in DACA.

Oh they’re all so special...

Chain migration should be part of any immigration law......prohibiting it. It is still part of the 1986 Ted Kennedy amnesty and should be prohibited in ANY new immigration law period.

Dear President Trump:

If you want to eliminate chain migration, one very powerful tool (among many) would be to have the Congress include in that DACA bill that they’re going to want you to sign a simple statement that the United States does not exercise any jurisdiction, for purposes of the 14th Amendment, over individuals born here at a time when neither parent is either a citizen or a lawful permanent resident. That will end “birthright citizenship,” which is a key element in the whole chain migration scam.

BTW, please mention something to this effect in a Tweet - I haven’t seen any Leftist heads explode in at least a couple of days, and I’m beginning to experience some serious withdrawal symptoms.

Still enjoying winning!

Thanks,

Ancesthntr

Trump is blowing smoke. He's hoping that immigration patriots aren't motivated enough to do the research to discover that he has uttered a bare-faced lie. Based on the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, both citizens and green card holders can bring relatives over. Unless explicitly repealed by Congress, any amnesty Trump arranges includes chain migration by default, unless this amnesty involves only a H-1B-like work permit:

https://www.immihelp.com/greencard/familybasedimmigration/categories.html

Family based immigration - visa categories: unlimited (immediate relatives) and limited

The Immigration and Nationality Act allows for the immigration of foreigners to the United States based on a relationship to a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

If you are a U.S. Citizen, you may petition for the following relatives, as long as you can prove the relationships:

Husband or wife;
Unmarried child under 21 years old;
Unmarried son or daughter over 21 years old;
Married son or daughter of any age;
Brother(s) or sister(s), if you are at least 21 years old.
Mother of father, if you are at least 21 years old;

If you are a lawful permanent resident (green card holder), you may petition for the following relatives, as long as you can prove the relationships:

Husband or wife;
Unmarried child under 21 years of age;
Unmarried son or daughter over 21 years of age.

Good for Trump. For legal reasons we need to end all chain migration, not just for DACA recipients. If it’s for DACA recipients alone, they will find one federal judge to rule that the provision is unconstitutional because it is Discriminatory and shows Animus toward 3rd cousins once removed of DACA recipients.
