Facing backlash from high-ranking current and former CIA officials, the Dean of the Kennedy School of Government withdrew an invitation for Chelsea Manning to serve as a visiting fellow at the Institute of Politics in late-night reversal Friday.
I now think that designating Chelsea Manning as a Visiting Fellow was a mistake, for which I accept responsibility, Kennedy School Dean Douglas W. Elmendorf wrote in a statement posted to the schools website shortly after midnight.
The school withdrew the invitation to Manninga transgender activist and former U.S. Army soldier who was imprisoned after disclosing over 700,000 classified government documents after CIA Director Mike Pompeo cancelled his scheduled appearance at the school Thursday.

All they wanted to do was get the attention of the MSM... THAT succeeded!
NOW their alumni can feel good about upping their contributions to Harvard.
That is what the whole thing was about.

Two bad choices. First they showed their immoral disdain for the country by hiring this guy/gal/it, then they showed their weakness by bowing to pressure and going back on their word.
What does this person have to offer students? Was he hired only because he gave away state secrets and had a sex change operation?

I am often both appalled and amazed at how stupidly many smart people act.
No detectable common sense at all :-/

They should offer that fellowship to Ben Shapiro.

“They should offer that fellowship to Ben Shapiro.”
Yes, good pick, or Daniel Greenfield or a host of other astute students of politics and history.

It's probably just as well.I have it on good authority that their men's rooms don't sell the special kind of tampons that he requires.

He should step down, but he won't.
He only caved when it became obvious the Kennedy School could not function with current and former government officials (that Harvard relies heavily on for guest speakers) boycotting the school.
