Why would we give citizenship to anyone who invaded our country illegally? Lock them up until they can be deported. Understand, we're talking about people who were illegally brought to this country as small children. Most have no memory of their birth country, and only know America as home. They never chose to be illegals - their parents did.
While I'm not for granting them a blanket amnesty, I do feel it would be right and proper to put them on a fast track through our existing legal immigration process.

California became what it is because of this. We now have Democrats who openly side with illegal immigrants and defy U.S. law. And why shouldnt they? Their opposition is the gutless, feckless GOP who routinely stab their voters in the back.Exactly right - in California illegals rights come first in the legislature and with the governor. Don't let this spread people. The DACAns need to go back to their country of origin and apply. We can give them an expedited path but they got checkout (fingerprints, dna) leave then reapply.
The only compromise I think is genuine citizenship for those DACAns who are in the military serving or have an honorable discharge

“responsible immigration reform” is the new “fix our broken immigration system” was the new “comprehensive health care reform”.

"Green card holders can become citizens after 5 years of residency." So add a third category, permanent residency without citizenship....ever. Call it a "red card". Nothing prevents the Congress from doing so.That would be a little better for the time being. However, assuming congress would even be able to pass such a bill, the minute it became law, you would see hear endless complaints about "2nd class citizens, need to vote because they live here" from the media, Dems. RINOs, etc. They will keep pushing forever, and the next D POTUS will be very tempted to write an unconstitutional EO with a "path to citizenship."

"They need to leave or be deported one day. Because any amnesty encourages new illegal aliens to come here. The median American man has not seen a real income increase for 40 years. It's time to curb the new inflow of labor - legal or other otherwise. "If" Trump is able to use DACA as a negotiating tool to pass the border wall and stronger means to keep future illegals out, it is a net win.
I think economic policy on trade has a lot more to do with that lag in income increase than an influx of leaf-blower operators, and Trump is already working to fix that. Or haven't you kept up with all the announcements of Americans "on-shoring" previously exported jobs, and foreign firms building manufacturing operations in the US.

We took these people in on humanitarian grounds.
We supported them, paid for their upkeep, and education.
Now we are being attacked despite our extended helping hand.
It is time for them to go home.
We are ripped all the time for stripping other nations in the America’s of their resources. These children, young men and women are the resources of other nations.
Send them the F home.
Let them sit on that red card on their trip back.

Make no mistake, any kind of amnesty is a dangerous thing to do, and I am aware of what a disaster it could cause, but maybe it will work out better than expected.

I agree. We have so constitutionally dumbed down as a nation that fundamental precepts , like equal protection< and uniform laws are categorically dismissed as non existent. This is true even in “conservative “ media. Ignorant such as Krauthammer are giver station and elevation to pontificate crap. With Gorsuch and 1 more we have a chance to restore observation of our fundamental law but with Trump running to the extreme left he will probably nominate some transexual who thinks they are a cat.

Trump told reporters, Were not looking at citizenship, were not looking at amnesty. Were looking at allowing people to stay here.
And how is that not amnesty?

It does appear that way. I think I will wait and see how this shakes out. The only thing I know is that the media cannot be believed when they report about President Trump.
To: MagillaX
Trump is taking responsibility for a bad situation. Whether you like it not we let them stay for all these years now we own their situation.
I don’t take on responsibility for anyone’s illegal situations. Trump did not make the problem, either. His job is to end the problem of allowing illegals to stay here.

On DACA EO I will agree with Clinton's words “Mend it don't end it”
Make it stronger with new EOs and forget about THIS congress passing a bill on DACA/amnesty to fix anything.
The Trump cult posters who keep on posting that Trump holds all the cards in this playing 3-D chess are delusional or liars. Dems hold the cards, any deal with them on THIS will screw us.

“We”?
Bush the Idiot Son certainly let them stay. And Barack the Usurper added them to his army.
But I don’t owe them a damned thing. I’ll be glad to pay for their return ticket to the country they belong to. It’s not this one.
