If congress does not pass a daca bill Trump can blame it on them and say "That would have been the right way, but they didn't act, so I have to do it via EO." If his EO is a disaster he can try to blame congress again. Uh oh, does this sound a little like Obama?

I don't trust congress to do this, but obviously an EO is only valid until a new POTUS wants to change it.

If Trumps order is a disaster then he deserves to be blamed.

OH brother, with a bill that gets through congress amnesty is forever, the ability to vote is forever, but all that enforcement talk is subject to the next POTUS as with Bush and Obama. NOTHING that Schumer and Pelosi agree to has to be enforced by the next POTUS.

You and every freeper knows how democrats are going to play this. Amnesty will lead shortly to complaints that these "hard workers" pay taxes but cannot realize the fullness of citizenship, including voting. They're taxed, but have no say.

Trump could go a long way to revealing the democrat agenda by stipulating that these "dreamers" will NEVER receive citizenship or be permitted to vote in any election under any circumstances. Neither will they be permitted to bring any family members. They cut their ties, they proclaimed their affection for their new home - move along now. Every democrat could be expected to resist this plan, showing their hand is not generosity, but destruction.

The DACA kids stay, their kids are citizens, and chain migration starts from that. The parents of citizens become citizens, then aunts, uncles, cousins ....

Now they say they are going to reduce chain migration. One question is when would they start, and how much.

When 200,000 votes across FL & AZ would have switched the 2016 election results, any immigration is too much. DACA is too much. We are that close to irrevocable change.

The door should shut for 20 years to allow assimilation. Those who don't, go home.

Note that they think they've solved a problem if they 'reduce something', but that's like plugging only some holes in a leaking dam. It does little good to prevent a bad ending.

All illegals go home, never get a chance for legal status. No more anchor babies. Pause immigration for 20 years. Build that wall.
