>>Deliberate.......................<<

Are there blacks in FLA? If there are, then I guess the mayor of Miami-Dade don’t like black people much.

Right?

Mass evacuations, themselves, can cause very significant issues, including loss of life.

It may be that holding off on issuing the evacuation orders is being done for strategic purposes, to help them get resources to assist with the evacuation in place, move more vulnerable populations out first, etc.

Somehow, if this goes bad, the media will make it Trump’s fault.

What I don’t get is how people constantly lose everything when they know for days a major storm is bearing down.

I think if I lived in the hurricane zone, I’d have some sort of bug out location ready. Valuables would be placed in a storage locker or a friends house about 50-100 miles inland.

As much as possible would be moved to the attic. I’d consider placing an inflatable boat in the house with some items in it that need to stay but can float up with the flood. Have another inflatable for evac if needed.

30 days of dry food is mandatory along with a supply of water, propane, a couple camp stoves and a firearm or two. Done.

I’m not a prepper but if you live in a weather zone like Florida, it just makes sense.

Idiot, it’s slowing down because PR is coming up.....once it gets past that it’s going to pick up steam again. If you are in Miami-Dade...get out....get out NOW.

Where, exactly, should all these people go? It's one thing to order evacuations, it's something entirely different having a place for them to go. There aren't enough shelters for these people and how many of them will withstand 180+ mph winds?

All hotels up I95 and I75 are sold out. Gas stations are out of fuel and the highways will become parking lots. They still have no idea where this monster will make landfall.

Exactly!

Same thing happened in New Orleans. Remember people wanting to evacuate, but not having transportation. Remember the school buses sitting in the water.

Sounds like they want to wait till the last minute, cause massive traffic jams, with vehicles caught in the storm. They will then blame Trump and Republican Governor Scott for not insisting, and the MSM will shout the same on all channels.

Governor Scott directed the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to suspend tolls across the entire State of Florida so people can evacuate. This includes Miami/Dade, whether they want to evacuate or not.

Understand South Florida has been warned to evacuate. We are already seeing many coming into North Florida. Personally, I thing they should travel on to inland Georgia before stopping. If Irma comes up either side or middle of the state there will be massive destruction. It is now a Cat 5 storm.

My real estate broker/friend who was planning to come stay with me at my house changed her mind a couple hours ago... her daughter in college in Phila. was freaking out and convinced her to start driving.

Just talked to her, she's been on the road for an hour or so and says "the Turnpike is completely bumper to bumper... I hope I didn't make a mistake!".

I just walked around to my immediate neighbors' houses to see who all is staying put... pretty much everyone is staying. I feel a little better knowing there will be plenty of folks around... especially for later... and ex-NYC cop next door, a gun collector across the street.

In my opinion, there is only one reason why people don’t evacuate. They don’t want their shit stolen.
