BREAKING NEWS: Tarot reader is NOT Salvador Dali's daughter, DNA test proves [tr]

The Gala-Salvador Dali Foundation says a paternity test has disproved a Spanish woman's claim that she is the surrealist artist's daughter.

The foundation said on Wednesday that the Madrid court that ordered the DNA test informed it that Maria Pilar Abel, a 61-year-old tarot card reader, has no biological relationship with Dali.

Abel has long alleged her mother had an affair with Dali while working as a domestic helper in Figueres and claimed she had the right to part of his vast estate.

The foundation said the court supervising the tests had informed its lawyers that Abel was not Dali's biological daughter after comparing her DNA with samples taken from Dali's remains.

In July, Experts removed hair, nails and two long bones from Dali's embalmed remains to compare to Abel's DNA for the test.

So they dug up and tested his remains for some total fraud, or else family "urban legend"....

The Dali Foundation’s lawyer said before the disinterment that if the allegations proved false they would come after her for financial damages. I hope they do, though as a “Professional Tarot Reader” I doubt she has a pot to piss in.

I could see a time when DNA testing was routinely done by the rich and famous even before their death so that such claimed paternity cases could be resolved without the need for disturbing their bones.
