DOH! You know, sometimes you step on your XXX. Sometimes you jump on "it". Looks like these clowns were tossin' boulders on "it". Geez, I wonder if the nurse in question will suffer ptsd from this event? The popo response is lame in the extreme. Sad a few assclowns can make the department look bad and then add to the line of BS. To all the good cops, thank you.

Why did you link us to a PRINT version? I want to read article, not print it out.

How come we keep saying “Sad a few assclowns can make the department look bad”. Maybe we should rethink this. Clearly a more accurate take is that gubment funded thugs are talented at shining sunlight on the idiotocracy.

That nurse is going to get a big payday, and so are a lot of lawyers.

SLC taxpayers ... not so much.

Sounds like the mayor and the PD need more corrective action: lawsuits against the city and the PD, lawsuits against the individual officers involved, denial of police access to the hospital in its entirety, arrest of any police who violate that restriction by the campus PD, and whatever else will motivate a radical change in behavior.

Payne’s commanding officer, the lieutenant at the desk, who ordered the arrest should also be place on administrative leave and ultimately fired. If the lieutenant at the desk received advice from others, they should also be investigated.

Most hospitals are not heavily staffed with nurses these days. I wonder how many lives were endangered by the illegal conduct of these cops. Or should I say, pigs.

The judgment of the lieutenant who told Payne to arrest a nurse right in the middle of an ER when she was supposed to be taking care of patients is seriously in question.
But clearly the detective absolutely lost it in a fit of temper when he charged her and restrained her.

The SLC police desperately wanted to find ANYTHING to use to bring charges against the VICTIM of a police chase that went bad. This is because if they could find a way to press charges against the man then they’d have a bargaining chip to use to EXTORT him into agreeing not to sue them.

That’s what this was all about right from the beginning.

The SLC Police were involved in a CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY to frame an INNOCENT MAN so they could avoid a lawsuit.

And when that vicious prick with a badge called Payne didn’t get his way he blew up like the out-of-control bully and thug that he is and he beat up on a nurse.

I’m angry because none of the other cops present did anything to stop him. Had that bastard pulled out his gun and shot the nurse the other cops would have just watched because that’s what they do.

I’m sorry but to me city police departments anymore are unaccountable gangs of armed thugs and bullies who terrorize people with almost no accountability.

When needs to happen in SLC is for the chief and his management team to be FIRED and for the elected and accountable Sheriff to take over the department and clean out the thugs and bullies and restore order.

The police department, the city, and the mayor will blow it off as a “misunderstanding” and the cop acted accordingly to cop procedures, etc etc etc.

This terrible event will be drug out so long that the outrage will die and the cop will get of with a hand slap, the nurse will be compensated and the whole thing forgotten. AGAIN.

Does anyone else remember the cops in SLC shooting a guy in a WalMart parking lot only a few years ago? Some snowflake thought he was planting bomb, called the cops, the guy went out of the store and the cops shot him as I recall. I also remember he was a veteran.

Instead of making or planting a bomb he was doing what I often do, trial fitting something to make sure it would work before he bought it.

I see that that illegal cop assassination has been swept under the rug also.

Payne pressed the issue and radioed a desk lieutenant who instructed Payne to arrest Wubbles if she did not comply.

And, at least 4 other cops stood by and watched this happen.

Can we all now dispense with the "few bad apples" theory?

If you stand by and watch (or cover up) abuse by another cop, YOU are corrupt too.

There are a lot of cops standing by with their hands in their pockets these days.

The cop committed a crime of assault and needs to be fired. The nurse needs to sue the town for millions of dollars.

Simple fix. You wake a judge up, have a probable cause statement and affidavit already filled out, email it, he/she looks it over and signs the search warrant electronically.

Ten minutes tops. You show the ER doctor, give him/her a copy of the return and get the blood draw or someone else gets arrested for obstructing an investigation, per the judges order.

This is important. While respecting privacy and Hippocratic oath are important, the need for justice is going to override those sometimes, particularly if the evidence needed to show impairment is being destroyed every minute that is being wasted.

We have enough drunks killing innocents in this nation.

This cop should be in jail. His fellow cops, who cowardly stood by during the assault, should be fired.

Had to look it up, but unsurprisingly found that the lesbian mayor of Salt Lake City, who helped keep this outrage under wraps for five weeks until the nurse victim managed to get the video out, is a Democrat. That she uses the same mayonnaise based hair conditioner as Debbie Wasserman Schultz was one clue. And her incompetent reading of her prepared script during the hastily organized press conference (mispronounced several words) was another. Her downcast expression, “My whole political career is in the toilet” as she walked from the podium after being eviscerated by the media present (”You guys are supposed to be on our side!”) was enjoyable to watch.
