Introducing Verrit, a new effort to organize Clinton supporters and arm them in social media fights Hillary Clinton is allegedly at the center of another cyber attack except this time it involves a startup thats trying to become something of a social network for her political supporters.
The saga began Sunday night when Clinton to the apparent surprise of her followers took to Twitter to offer her personal endorsement of a new, relatively unknown website called Verrit.
I'm excited to sign up for @Verrit, a media platform for the 65.8 million! Will you join me and sign up too? https://t.co/bOLSMyk6bG Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) September 3, 2017
In the words of its creator, Peter Daou, Verrit is his attempt to create an online hub for Clinton backers so that they can find easy-to-share facts, stats and other information you can take out to social media when youre having debates on key issues people are discussing, he said in an interview.
The 65.8 million referenced in Clintons tweet refers to her own vote total from the 2016 presidential election. Daou repeatedly declined to say if he had contacted the former secretary of state in a bid to secure her public show of support, and Clintons political organization Onward Together did not respond to emails seeking comment about its involvement in the effort. Already, the group has funded a number of organizations that are fighting against President Donald Trump.
Soon after Clintons tweet, though, Verrit stopped loading for web users the result of a pretty significant and sophisticated cyber attack, Daou told Recode. He declined to share the name of his hosting company, and did not yet know who exactly was behind the incident. But he said the traffic driven by Clintons endorsement which generated more than 10,000 new Twitter followers for Verrit isnt responsible for the outage.
Once its back online, Daou nonetheless has big ideas for Verrit. A former aide to Clintons 2008 campaign who later ran ShareBlue, a left-leaning news site that defended her candidacy, he wants Verrit to become a platform or place in the media for Clinton backers to call home and feel like theyre not facing attacks and smears and harassment and false narratives and negative talking points.
Eventually, Daou hopes the site will have a podcast, some analysis, a hub on YouTube and other elements, as he aims to help Clinton backers fight the bullying from the radical right and fringe left. Asked about funders, Daou said hes just beginning the process, actually.
This is a brand-new organic project, he continued. We launched this in June, and were just beginning the process of how were going to expand and grow the company and finance it.
It just isnt loading on Sunday night, at least for now.
Maybe something needs to be wiped . . . like with a cloth?
Vermont + Vomit = Verrit
From what I understand the user interface was awkward and cumbersome due to the libtard’s incessant demand for control and no one realized libtards have the attention span of a gnat and the intelligence of a hammer. So of course it was bound to fail even without external attack. The blow of a feather destroyed it. Typical libtard fail.
There are good and not so good places to communicate but, “social networking” has gotten out of control. Too many weird and hidden places making it difficult to seek out and destroy those who lurk in such dark places. There needs to be a nuclear devise to “bomb” them all.
Translation - he wants a Web Site where he and Clinton can be rest assured that Clinton supporters will be shielded from the many negative truths about her, and receive only her talking points and lies.
Not much success with the internet eh?
Varmint works also.
“radical right and fringe left”
Or as hillary would call them — “deplorables” and “berniebots.”
Probably didn’t pay his bills.
“Probably didnt pay his bills.”
Exactly now he proposes a False Flag operation (shut the site down himself) in an effort to raise more money. Liberals are most gullible.
A new social disease, I mean social networking site?
Is it for people who find Facebook too conservative/right wing?
So it’s a coordinated campaign site, then.
The server musta been hosted at the Burning Man site. /sarc
Sounds like a talking points source for the masses...:^)
This woman is as stupid as they come - she let Putin talk her out of campaigning in Wisconsin.
Frankly I thought her health problems would have done her in by now.
I just can't imagine a world where she runs a 4th time but we can always hope she saddles up the broom again. She really is stuck on stupid.
Many of the “65.8 million” voters will have to access the website from their computer in Mexico...because President Trump is kicking their illegal butts out of our country.
A podcast AND a YouTube channel? Such innovation - I mean it's not like millions of teens already do these things!
