What needs to be addressed is why all the police stand downs when ANTIFA and BLM attack?
Even if you support the police, this is not good.
Against whom will they use those arms?
Every day I am more repulsed by this little Southern-Fried pr*ck! As you point out, the problem isn’t with weaponry, it’s with a dearth in leadership.
When I attend nearly any sporting event in my town above high school level, the local sheriff’s deputies look like Seal Team 6 on the Bin Laden raid.
Attend a local NFL game, and you’ll see this, plus some armored vehicles.
I’m not that old, but I remember when Americans could conduct themselves publicly in large groups without the need for a venue becoming an armed camp.
I saw them use these tools in NYS....hunting down a cop killer. Can’t see the problem.
Agreed. This is a bad idea. It also follows that we can expect a step up on civil forfeitures by local, state, and federal law enforcement. Those toys are expensive and the money is not going to come from taxes.
Very bad choice IMHO! To much abuse with the tools that they already have in many situations. I am not saying all Law enforcement officers or departments make irresponsible choices, however quite a few do.
Don’t care. Wake me up when Sessions starts prosecuting Antifa terrorists.
Oh yeah I have seen at NFL games I attended in the past, and this was before September 11th, 2001.
I would not be surprised to see cops today in a Sniper Ghillie suit. It’s overkill and not needed.
Agree!
Exactly and great question!
Exactly!
“Wake me up when Sessions starts prosecuting Antifa terrorists.”
And the Dim Crims.
Wow...this is seemingly not good and makes most citizens more than uncomfortable.
Oddly, this is a reversal of 0bama’s executive order banning the sale of said military type hardware. Seems many agreed with him on this one point. Although his reason’s for banning it may have had a different desired result than our reasons for feeling it is not needed.
I am not a fan of a militarized police force. In my simple mind...if it is militarized tools, then we have military on the street, not peace officers. It seems to me that having military hardware used by police, borders on a type of undeclared/soft martial law.
Good for AG Sessions.
Maybe they will sell all that ammo obummer had the Feds stock up on to the public!!
Not sure I like this as if they have the tools they’ll want to find excuses to use them whether it’s called for or not.
It’s the old story that if you only have a hammer everything may look like a nail.
I my little part of the world here in Texas the police act more like an Army of Occupation than a police force.
I’m with you. His greatest attributes are cowardice and timidity, followed very closely by his halting and often confused oratory.
