Lost 33 pounds and had a little more to go. Have been working with a local health and wellness program and monitored dieting.
Very happy and dropped two clothing sizes. Going to try to drop another size or two. I have decided to be a little too little than a little too big.
Using low to moderate calorie high protein, moderate fate low carb diet.
Your diet tips always welcome.
I could suffer through that.

Been on a doctor-enforced diet since June. He also put me on Adipex. Cut out all the carbs (except for beer, ‘natch) - no breads, rice, potatoes, none of it. I scrutinize the labels of everything I do and used to buy, and man, was I packing in the carbs. Switched over to a diet high in protein. Lots of lean meat, fish, and fresh veggies. I don’t miss the carbs because of how the diet ties to serious health issues - I’ve become a medical jigsaw puzzle. I’ve dropped about 19 pounds so far. To give you an idea, just about 8 or 9 years ago I was wearing a size 36. As of late last year, I was wearing a size 44. I lost a little on my own and got down to a 42. Now I’m close to getting into size 40.

“Those occasional indulgences help me stay on track ...”
Good plan.
I quickly get myself back on track with a fasting day. Works like a charm. Mostly I am low-carb, but occasionally have a high-carb day. I don’t deny myself anything.
I also found that using a small amount of ketone salts crushes hunger and makes a fasting day easy.
You mention the dark chocolate...one indicator that you are on the right track is when dark chocolate actually starts tasting sweet. Most people eat so much sugar that they find dark chocolate very bitter and not very edible. But when you cut added sugar out of your diet, that dark chocolate starts tasting good. Especially with black coffee!
I always keep some 90% Lindt chocolate in the freezer for when I get a craving for something sweet.
I am buying new snacks every couple of sizes.
I am hoping for a wedding in the near future, if my son gets on the stick and asks the gal he has been seeing. He needs to put a ring on her soon!
I want to be smaller than all of my adopted daughters when I am at that wedding. The cortisol stress hormone I expended that fattened me while raising them, That is gone! I have little stress in my life, comparatively speaking.
I am also putting money aside for a new wardrobe when I hit that goal.
our local market has pork steaks, three in a package and tasty.
What are ketone salts?

I lost over 200 pounds... then my mother-in-law came back.
(Kidding!)
You could also live on poison for the rest of your life. It’s just that it wouldn’t be for very long.
Ketone salts are sodium-, potassium-, magnesium- beta hydroxybutyrate. They are the energy sources when the metabolism is in “fat-burning” mode.
When the body is running primarily on carbohydrate fat is not being accessed for energy.
To get into true fat-burning mode it is ideal to empty out glycogen (stored carbohydrate). This takes the average sofa spud at least a day or two of very low carb eating, or more than 12 hours of complete fasting. The sugar burner is going to feel like crap while their sugar depletes and insulin drops.
Ketone salts make the transition easier — more energy and reduced brain fog.
Try using Stevia sweetner a natural plant. Cook with it and sweeten green tea with it. Avoid processed sugar and artificial sweeteners.
My FRiend Dumbgrunt rigged up a small lunch cooler with some type of warmer, to make his own yogurt.
A gallon of milk costs $2.50
that’s 128 oz.
A container of yogurt is 6oz at about $0.40 on a good sale.
Other wise $0.50 -$0.60
That would be $10.50 @ $0.50 each for the same amount you could make.
Add your own fruit and avoid the sugar.
Lots of vids on Youtube on making your own yogurt.
Dieting doesn’t work in the long-term, unfortunately, and causes negative changes in metabolism and leptin levels:
(But congrats to you anyway!)
24 to 36 hours?! No, I’m thinking more of 1 to 2 hours, maybe 3 to 4 at most.
Dieting is pretty simple, maybe not so easy.
You can eat any food you like (in small enough quantities), as long as you are hungry 100% of the time, you are doing it right. You should be slightly hungry even after a meal.
To make it a little easier, try small meals or snacks every so often, as long as you are always hungry. Exercise helps, but is not essential or even important, but it does increase the amount you can eat while remaining hungry.
I’ve lost about 20 lb with this regime and now I’m 170 lb at 6’0” tall. I could lose more, but 170 lb is my target for now. The lower you go, the more hunger you must endure, it gets harder & harder.
Erythritol is a good sweetener also. Less sweet than sugar but tastes good in tea.
Near zero calories and almost no effect on blood sugar and insulin. Supplies bulk and can be used with stevia. Evidence that erythritol has some benefits for blood vessels. No or minimal laxative effect unlike other -ols.
