Sapna Rampersaud has written an article for National Review Online's The Corner titled"Illegal Immigrants Can Now Defend the Laws They Break," detailing how the states of New York and California have moved to permit illegal aliens to practice law. This is the kind of thing one might expect to see as a headline on the satirical website The Onion, but, sadly, it's true.
Actually, they've been headed that way for some time. John Feere, previously a legal policy analyst here at the Center, wrote about California's efforts clear back in January of 2014, and commented on the back flips achieved by the California Supreme Court in deciding that permitting illegal aliens to practice law was copacetic:

The same people who told us “de state cannot make de eemeegration law, only de federal goberment can!” are the ones who pushed this through.
Translation: Mexican supremacists in California: Kevin de Leon, Tony Rendon, Ricardo Lara, Alex Padilla and Xavier Becerra.
Any sane judge would through an illegal alien “attorney” out of his court.
But we know where this is going: illegal alien police and government officials.
De Leon is the son of two people in the country illegally. It’s not a big secret. That’s why “half of his family” has to use stolen identities to live and work in the U.S. (his words, not mine).
Is such a person a “citizen”? If so, who made him one? His illegal alien parents? They chose, and the rest of us have to respect that?
Why?
Either the so-called Federal Judiciary kills this NOW or they lose ALL legitimacy. As if they had much left.
Seize and deport them the moment they show up to take the bar exam.
If illegal aliens can practice law, then non lawyers who are US citizens should be allowed to practice law also.
How about illegal aliens practicing Self-immolation
An illegal alien lawyer has a fool for a client
Yet another reason for ICE to hang out at the courthouse.
Does ICE sell apparel? I would so love an ICE hat and jacket.
Huh?
So two states will have criminals practicing law? Jeez, how progressively insane...
Don't be silly!!
Law school training and licensing are artificial constructs, hence "unconstitutional" and unnecessary.
Just as so-called "constitutions..."
Everybody knows that!
Cheese and Rice!!!
An individual whose presence here is itself proof of a crime cannot appear before the bench in any serious capacity as anything but a defendant for that crime. They cannot have legal standing as an attorney or anything else.
We are either a Nation of Laws, or we are nothing.
“criminals practicing law?”
Next, Mexican lepers practicing medicine.
(”Ju want a peece a me, greeengo?”)
I'm sure that's going on.
Won't be long, they'll be a majority in the political bodies. The politicians have the lowest standards of all.
Any and all rulings involving an illegal are hereby declared null and void...Ignore them.
