I do believe that the German Chancellor purposely mis-identified the culprits.
Dear G20 nations: Show proof that the USA caused the most pollution. You can’t because it is China and India, so we decided to enjoy the planet by making America Great Again. If you don’t like it, F You.
The Chinese middle class will eventually demand a cleaner environment. These people are educated and will pressure Beijing for reforms. If China wants to evolve then they will have to clean up their own mess.
