Listening to Fox News, the gun the shooter used has been identified as an SKS with 7.62 X 39 ammo, with a scope, and called a "high powered rifle."
Of course an SKS is not high powered, or particularly accurate....but the ignorance, fear, and bias of the Media--even on Fox--is already coming out--to pound the drum against the 2nd Amendment.

In the hands of todays’ loser.....he might have well thrown bricks....
Thank goodness he had no skills!

An article on Wikipedia is saying it was an “M4 carbine semiautomatic rifle”, which, if I’m not mistaken, is an AR-15 carbine that shoots .223 in an intermediary cartridge.

I certainly think of 7.62 X 39 as high powered. So what? The amount of bullet power in this situation is irrelevant.

DailyMail is a British rag. What do they know about long guns? Lost my lovely little pup on March 6, 2011. Still miss her too.

I’m surprised they haven’t called it an “AK-15 GLOCK AUTOMATIC ASSAULT RIFLE”...............

The weapon he used was an M40 rifle and witnesses report hearing 50 gunshots.M40? The bolt-action military version of the Remington 700? Or M4, the modern M16 variant?

Full power .30 rounds are scary effective. Most people have no appreciation of how powerful and effective an M1 or M1A is in trained hands.

I would not argue with saying it is high powered tho just about every other thing they say about firearms is typically wrong.
An SKS is closer in power to a an M-14 than a UZI. Yes I know it is usually called a mid power round.

SKS is a great 100 yard gun
Which raises the question, why did a shooter with a 7.62 rifle (and a scope) choose a position less that 200 feet (my guess) from the target? With no exit strategy, that was suicide. Was he truly so stupid as to believe the security staff were unarmed, untrained, and without comms?

Correct, but it seems now that more reports are calling it an "M4 semiautomatic rifle", which would be a .223 "varmint" round, wouldn't it?

You forgot to mention he obviously never trained with the weapon....he could have been devastating with that gun...but fortunately wasn’t.....
Trying to establish logic for a liberal or progressive is a futile position.....Can’t fix stupid....

I was just quoting what the article said word for word.
To: AnalogReigns
The live coverage this morning had some nitwit eyewitness named Owen who kept calling the weapon an “AK-47.”
Guess the idiot didn’t know the “A” in AK-47 stands for “automatic.”
