I really should refresh my memory, but this is what I recall from Arthur Miller's play "The Crucible" about the Salem Witch Trials (1692):

Young girls in Salem MA run around claiming to be bewitched and they accuse people of being witches. A number of woman (and at least one man) are put on trial and killed based on these accusations.

The judge figures that if the girl falls down screaming in court and point to someone, then that's all the evidence you need. The woman they point to must be a witch.

And then a girl names the Judge's wife as a witch.

It's all over in a flash: The judge announces it's a big hoax, the girls are faking it, there are no witches and the trials are over.

I think Trump should now feel free to announce: it's a big hoax, the Dems are faking it, there are no witches and the trials are over. He's done.
