A Florida sheriff is calling on citizens to exercise their Second Amendment rights and arm themselves in preparation for a potential attack.
Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey, who described himself as one of the most politically incorrect sheriffs in the country, posted a six-minute video on Facebook last week after a disgruntled ex-employee fatally shot five people at an Orlando business.
This is war, and you better be prepared to wage war to protect you, your family and those around you if attacked, Sheriff Ivey said in the video. I am firmly convinced that as Americans we can no longer sit back and pray the fight isnt brought to us.
The sheriff criticized London police for recently instructing citizens to run, hide and tell in the event of an attack.
Terrorists and active shooters know that our citizens have been coached to run and hide and then patiently await help, Sheriff Ivey said. In fact, they count on it, so they can strategically target as many citizens as possible. What they dont count on is being attacked themselves.

Good that he is saying what needs to be said. That’s Florida. Works differently in other states. Here, in California, we have a battle with legislators and courts that keep us disarmed. Used to have open carry, taken away a few years ago. Extended that to long guns. Few if any concealed permits allowed. And the courts come down on those who protect their own families, with a few exceptions. The battle isn’t only against armed aggressors attacking us, it’s against leftist liberals running the states.
bump
Always carry as good a fighting knife as is legal. If your state permits, always carry a gun, even if it’s only a .22 LR revolver. If your state laws are too restrictive, make a prudent decision to balance the risk from the jackbooted thugs in the Ctrl-Left government against the risk from their allies in the terrorist left.
He is correct. The police and sheriffs cannot protect you 24/7/365.........................
All my guns and knives were lost in a tornado...
You too? Time to buy more . . . and take them boating.
Someone needs to compile a list of names, of such people in California (the legislature, the courts, etc) that do such things, so that when CWII breaks out, those people can be found and dealt with as enemy combatants.
I’d say when CWII breaks out, set up bounties on them. War is hell. Send them to it.
With limp wrists flailing, no doubt.
In my neck of the woods, a crazed shooter in a public place was taken care of by a concealed license holder - something the left says doesn't happen. He saved a co-worker's life.
But is your boat OK?
The list is too long to compile. Start with Gov Jerry Brown, who spearheaded the latest anti-gun legislation that went into place, making most guns with two or more accessories into assault weapons that are now illegal and must be registered. Then there are the usual liberals, like Dianne Feinstein etc., who was a known gun carrier for herself (one of only a little more than half dozen permits issued in SF County) but anti-gun for everyone else. When CWII breaks out, all outspoken liberals will be targets.
When seconds matter, the police are only minutes away.
My sheriff. And I have taken his wise advice to heart. Don’t come around here.
Jefferson said “you won’t need the 2nd amendment until they tru to take it away from you”
Sorry Califorina missed the signal. Of course if 100,000 armed citizens showed up and demanded.....
Nor are they required to ................

I love that movie clip. Sometimes I wonder whether Islamic Rage Boy has ever seen it. ;-p
Florida’s sheriffs are interesting. Polk County’s sheriff loves to call criminals idiots and dumb..
Boat was at BIL’s....it’s okay.
