Gloria Allred, celebrity lawyer most famous (in my heart) for her cameo in ‘Rat Race,’ was expelled from the courtroom after her cell phone went off in the middle of Bill Cosby’s trial. It was Andrea Costand’s second day of testimony.
“It was off and it rang. I have no idea how it happened,” said Allred to a New York Post reporter outside of the courtroom.
Technology is important for the modern working woman but Allred rose from the ashes of 1950s sexism to become one of the preeminent feminist lawyers of her lifetime so I think we can forgive her for failing to master the “silence” button on her cell phone.
Her other accomplishments include raising a daughter who is quickly becoming one of the preeminent feminist lawyers of her time and, again, that ‘Rat Race’ cameo.
Didn’t she ever see the movie “Law Abiding Citizen”? lol

At the start of my last call for jury duty, the bailiff told everyone to pull out their cell phones and with turn them off or completely (no vibrate) silence them. There would be no excuses for ringing phones or beeping watched.
ANYONE who would hire Allred or her devil daughter, Lisa Bloom, is a FOOL!
I was not in a cell phone off situation when all of a sudden it was. Of course no one calls me ever.......except at that moment......and it was a junk call.
I flipped off the audio button on my iPhone. It kept ringing. As I mostly use my phone as a little pocket internet device, I’m not sure how all the phone aspects work. I finally got it to stop ringing.
I will text someone before calling them for the most part. I save calls for more urgent discourse.
The judge should have issued a warning. Throwing an attorney off a case is a sure way to get a retrial.
