Friday at the Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce in Irving, TX, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said some President Donald Trump political problems were self-inflicted.
Cruz said, What Im trying to do is just ignore the circus.

“For what its worth, Ive heard that AG Sessions pushed hard to get Mueller named as the special counsel. Thats very telling, and gives me a lot of confidence that Mueller will do the job well.”
Most comforting news I have heard about this Mueller appointment. Thank you.
There is no damage.

Agree. The media and the liberals are screaming “WOLF! WOLF! WOLF!” There is no wolf. More and more people will start to ignore the media and liberals.
At the end of the day, the question is, “What did you accomplish?”
By time the 2018 elections roll around, people will have forgotten all this minutia.
I would vote for him again if the election was held tomorrow.
I would even be a bigger financial contributor now than I was last year.
But that doesn't mean I'm going to drink the Kool-Aid and pretend he's not an erratic man a lot of the time and needs to be under constant scrutiny over things that politically astute people take for granted.
Congressional Republicans can’t defend President Trump because he and his staff are all over the map on a lot of things that are big stories in the media right now. Put yourself in the shoes of a Republican Congressman right now. When you have Sean Spicer and Donald Trump saying two diametrically opposed things about the same story (the firing of James Comey, for example), you have no way of knowing how the hell to “defend” the president.
Not true. There are MANY GOP is safe seats who could without risk fully support POTUS and his agenda. They just don’t want to.
When Clinton was impeached, Democrats had a party at the White House. Last week a former Congresswoman Florida Democrat was convicted of 18 FELONIES. Dems immediately rallied to her.
The GOP is choosing to not support POTUS because they want his agenda to fail. In fact, they prefer the progressive Democrat agenda to his agenda. How pathetic is that?
By time the 2018 elections roll around, people will have forgotten all this minutia.
It’s not about elections now. It’s about governing. And all this nonsense is holding up POTUS drain the swamp agenda. Which is exactly what career politicians like Ted Cruz want.
Don’t be silly. Of course the GOP can defend Trump. They can repeat into every mic in DC that there is zero evidence that Trump has committed a crime, and thus zero basis for impeachment. Then they can run through the impressively long, bipartisan list of people who are on record saying there is zero evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia. They can repeat these two facts until A, they sink in, and B, the ground is cut out from under the MSM/Democrats.
‘Most comforting news I have heard about this Mueller appointment.’
Yes, but there’s no link, is there?
Yeah, because shutting up and backing off has worked so well for our side....
1. The Democrats never expected the Trump administration to actually appoint a special counsel in this case.
2. Many Democrats are alarmed at the prospect of President Trump leaving office through a resignation or impeachment.
The GOP is trying to wear down Trump so he won’t run for reelection. LBJ is the correct historical parallel. Not Nixon. That’s what much of the backstabbing is about, IMO.
Now that's some serious #NeverTrump bullshit—precisely what I'd expect from you...
Trump needs to stick a sock in his mouth for once.
“That strategy worked out well for GWB. Silence is golden.”
Exactly. He is fighting back against the establishment and it will not be pretty. Some of the snowflakes on this forum are assuming the fetal position.
The House Freedom Caucus would be among them. And yet these were the members of Congress who were singled out for scathing criticism by President Trump for refusing to support Paul Ryan's health care reform bill that didn't address a single item in the health care reform proposal that Trump's campaign had proposed when he was a candidate in 2016.
Like I said ... the Republicans in Washington who will fare the best over the next couple of years are likely to be the ones who can figure out how to ignore him whenever they need to.
If the Congressional Republicans had any balls at all, they would be defending this President aggressively and passionately.
Instead, they're acting like a bunch of cowards, and deserve a coward's fate...
Sort of like this self serving statement while sliding the shim into Trump’s back.
“I wish our guys would rally around Trump with enthusiasm. Leave criticism for closed doors.”
I agree. This is an all out war against the establishment.
Of course he's right, but you don't freely give the enemy ammunition like that. Ted just enabled the MSM to open up another angle of attack against the President.
1. There is no need to even mention the word "impeachment" when you're dealing with a fabricated scandal like this.
2. There's no need for any Republican to do this when you already have people like Diane Feinstein, former FBI Director James Comey, and interim FBI Director Andrew McCabe on the record saying exactly what you've said here.
Same old Ted that disappointed us earlier.
