NBC anchor who gave Clinton a pass, accused president of racism gets exclusive interview
A NBC News anchor who was seen as soft on Hillary Clinton and tough on Donald Trump in the first 2016 presidential debate will now get a rare one-on-one interview with President Trump.
Numerous media outlets reported on Tuesday morning that NBC News Lester Holt will get the on-camera sit-down with Trump this week.
The Hill reported that the interview will air both on Thursdays broadcast of NBC Nightly News and on Friday mornings Today Show. Holts interview comes at a time that conservative outlets are complaining about access to Trump, his Cabinet, and his staff.
Given how one-sided the major media [have] been with Trump, its almost surprising hes willing to engage them, said Dan Gainor, vice president of business and culture for the Media Research Center. Our recent study showed that 89 percent of evening news coverage was negative about President Trump.
Gainor suggested Trump is still trying to play nice with media elite who are fundamentally committed to undermining his presidency.
Perhaps hes trying to win a few friends in the press, but thats hardly likely, he said, the news media are doing everything they can to sabotage his presidency.
Holt was the subject of intense conservative ire for roasting Trump at the first on-stage contest with Clinton, in what many commentators regarded as the most biased performance from any of the cycles presidential-debate moderators.

How did those go? Did you watch them? Thanks in advance.
did the article mention who was giving Holt the signals as to when Trump was to be interrupted?
He’s not afraid of them. I hope he takes time to film it as well as they will edit it to make him look bad.
Dan Gainor.....wow that is a voice from out of the past. He was easy on the eyes too. He fainted once during a press briefing in Iraq.
I forget what lib broad he is married to. I think a media babe.
Holt can’t possibly hurt him. The more of a dick he is, the better for Trump. Win, win.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
He must be a BUSH Republican then!
Why? Why doesn't he let them die on the vine?
To Clinton :
“How do you feel about your historic role in the last election?”
To Trump:
“How do you feel denying little children medical care and treatments they need to pay for MORE tax cuts to the wealthy”
President Trump can take on anyone, but only if it is broadcast live. When the dishonest media can cut and paste an interview, they can make anyone look bad or good, depending on the interviewed person’s party. I hope President Trump has learned this lesson.
Agree. It’s a mistake to meet with Detestable Lester. Trump may as well have a sit-down with Candy Crowley, for Pete’s Sake!
According to the story, the network told Sadat that the interview would be conducted over the course of an hour. He asked them how long the TV segment would be, and was told: "The segment will air for 12 minutes."
"Then I'll give you 12 minutes for the interview," he said. He was no fool -- and knew damn well that it would be edited to fit a political agenda.
Exactly! 60 Minutes is notorious for its biased editing. They have even been known to insert questions in places where they were not actually asked.

Donald Trump Walks Off CNN Interview in 1990
Watch Trump facial expression at 1:18
Both Muir and Dickerson were rude and disrespectful in the way one expects liberal journalists interviewing any conservative (especially Trump).
Trump holds his own, but he surprised me when he actually called Dickerson’s program “Deface the Nation” to his face, and ended the interview abruptly when Dickerson asked the same question over and over again about Obama surveillance.
Then that led to CBS’s Stephen Colbert going berserk in his next broadcast.
I think the reason Trump was more aggressive in the CBS interview than the ABC one was because it occurred months later and tensions are boiling over now.
Kind of surprised Holt was chosen for the NBC interview, but Trump obviously fears no one.
Trump can handle uncle Lester. Easily.
“Hes not afraid of them. I hope he takes time to film it as well as they will edit it to make him look bad.”
That is how I see it. Trump is not afraid. Yes they will leave a lot of the interview on the cutting room floor and try to make him look bad. I hope he has a tape of all the interview.
"Then I'll give you 12 minutes for the interview," he said. He was no fool -- and knew damn well that it would be edited to fit a political agenda.
Great story.
I thought the most hostile was Me-Again Kelly...
