~The FReeper Canteen Presents~

Road Trip: Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada

Nellis Air Force Base is a United States Air Force installation in southern Nevada with military schools and more squadrons than any other USAF base. Nellis hosts air combat exercises such as Exercise Red Flag and close air support exercises such as Green Flag-West flown in "Military Operations Area (MOA) airspace" associated with the nearby Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR). The base also has the Combined Air and Space Operations Center-Nellis.

The Nellis AFB mission of advanced combat training for composite strike forces is commonly conducted in conjunction with air and grounds units of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and allied forces. The base also supports operations at the nearby Creech Air Force Base, the Tonopah Test Range and the Nevada National Security Site.

Nellis ground systems for range operations (e.g., by call sign "Nellis Control") include the Computer and Computed Subsystem used to receive microwave signals from the NTTR Ground Based Stations of the Tracking and Communications Subsystem (TCS) for presentation on Nellis' Display and Debrief SubSystem (DDS).

The 365th Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Group, headquartered at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, is the Air Force lead for all-source and content-dominant analysis in support of airpower employment, focusing on threat tactics, characteristics, and capabilities from an adversary air, air defense, cruise/ballistic missile, space, and ISR perspective.

Surprised that the info on Nellis didn’t mention that it is also the home of the 3600th Air Demonstration Unit, better known as the USAF Thunderbirds.

I haven’t been able to get a picture on the OKC cam. I can watch on Alessondra’s FB page, but it’s awkward that way.

Glad you got it. I completely forgot! LOL!

They’re so tall they can barely stand up in that “hovel” they live in. LOL!

I’m glad those dogs can’t run loose. WHY do people do that. It’s a wonder someone who has no sympathy hasn’t shot them by now.

Hope she has them soon. I can hardly wait to see the pictures!

I couldn’t get the OKC cam the first time I tried but haven’t had any problems since.
Primo needs to be careful with all the wingercises on the railing. He’s liable to take off before he’s ready. LOL

Welcome to the Canteen, tophat...I bet it can be pretty noisy at times.

I live a few miles from Joint Base Elemendorf-Richardson. It’s not often they fly over the city, but boy are they loud, but really exciting to see up close.

The sounds of freedom!

One snatched the rat Didi showed up with earlier in a flash! LOL! Then couldn’t do anything with it.

We don’t know who the guy was who was running the dogs but we’re glad he was busted for it. Guess someone got angry enough to make a call. We’d have called if we’d known what was going on when they were here. I was furious.

I’m starting to get excited about the kittens. Been kinda hard since we reeeeeeeeally don’t need more. Sure would be nice if she has more boys than girls. ALL boys would be great! Moreta did us that favor when she had the litter Buckwheat was in.
There’ll be pix of them, don’cha worry ‘bout that. :-)

Wouldn't that be a shock to him! LOL!

I just checked the Hungarian nest. It just keeps getting more beautiful, that setting.

It sure would be a shock. LOL! I worry that lil Principio will try to fly too soon. It’s trying to keep up with the other two and is so much younger.

I want sooooooo badly to walk through those woods in Hungary. They’re gorgeous. Heck, they’re even pretty during winter.

The Latvian forest is gorgeous too. It would be NICE if it would stop snowing there though! At least the sun is shining today so now snow but yesterday’s hasn’t melted yet. Makes it hard for Ozols to hunt for frogs when it’s that cold.

A very pleasant good Tuesday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks, Lauren, for this morning's thread.

How's it going for everyone this morning?

He’s done a little fussing but quieted down when the sun hit the nest. Still wheezes and whistles a little every now and then when he shows up with new moss and sticks. He’s gotten the nest nice again while I gave Jade a breathing treatment and he seems content now.
Ok, spoke too soon. He’s carrying on big time right now.

Dang the luck. Not quick enough with the door when ya let Ginger out. LOL! Hope Peaches doesn’t bother you too much while you try to sleep.

Good morning, Everyone.

Good morning to our

Military, our Allies, and their families.

Thank you, Lauren (and Ma), for preparing the
Canteen for today’s activities.

Road Trip! Climb aboard.

Checking in.
Glad to see our heroes at work.

Brrr, chilly morning.
Not much rain, but it pushed the heat away.
Going to take Eada out for a walk while it warms up;
today is fence painting day.

Thursday, I won't be around
as I have to take my mother to the hospital for a procedure;
apparently she has a kidney stone too big to pass
and they will zap it with laser.

Please stay.
Grab a cup of joe or tasty tea.
Chat with the military and/or the family they left behind.

The FR Canteen is

Come on in and sit for a while.
There's always plenty of coffee, tea,
pancakes, conversation,
silliness,
and plain old BS

REMEMBER THEM ~ DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM

FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT

Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allied military and the family members of the above Honoring those who have served before.
