It is protocol. Which side the FLOTUS & the POTUS gets in and out of the car and where they are seated etc; I was reading about this the other night, but I can’t find the link now. The protocol is more than likely based on what is the safest for the President and how the USSS do their job.
To: Spunky
That makes sense
Even when he entered the room/area to pin on the PH it seemed no one was walking with. Awkward has to be protocol

I’d like to know. In a regular car the worst place to sit is the passenger side. Not sure about the back area.

I didn't realize the passenger side in a car is considered the most dangerous. I always if not driving want to be on the passenger side weather front or back.
I imagine the Presidential vehicle is so well reinforced it probably wouldn't matter where one sat.

We’re having leftovers too. Meatloaf and a chicken casserole made with tortillas, green chilies, etc.
I think we’ll be having that for several more days. It is nice not to have to cook once in a while, isn’t it?
Did you go to your sisters or stay home. I voted for the movie ;)

THE SECRET SERVICE TODAY
Cyber intrusion, improvised explosive devices and other forms of mass attacks are at the forefront of the task before the Secret Service today, as it fights to keep up with the technological revolution of the last few decades.
The organization today has a great interest in recruiting college athletes, particularly those who excelled at football and basketball and can learn plays by signs and numbers, says Robinson.
"They're much better athletes, they're much more aware, and because they're constantly training for that failure, and constantly training to avoid that failures...these guys are real protective professionals," he says.
"We have a very selective hiring process and a diverse workforce," he says. "Some from the business world, the military, police, people who have a lot of life experience, and that combined with training."-Per Paul D. Shinkman-SENIOR NATIONAL SECURITY WRITER-US News

Great interview on the Presidents tweets! ( can’t believe he has known POTUS since he was 16 and served as his caddy. How cool!)
Congratulations on the POTUS following you on Twitter !

When my son was young I sat in the back with him while my husband drove. The last thing my brother-in-law found for my son's Grand Am that had gone under a semi with the former driver, was a mirror for the passenger side at a junk yard.
