When the primarily urban rejects of Spanish society elected a leftist government in 1936 and set about “fundamentally transforming” Spain (burning churches, seizing land), the army and police, supported by much of the rural population, rose up and fought a three year war to restore order. In the end, the leftists were too incompetent to really organize much; their screeds against authority left them with a rabble that refused to take orders or see anything beyond their own selfish interests, and starvation set in. Like all communist utopias, nobody wanted to do the actual work involved with raising crops and such...
>>there can only be one.
I’ve seen Highlander. I know what needs to be done.
“You dont fight an ant colony by going inside it. You attack it from the outside by burying it in the dirt.”
FWIW: burying an ant colony is pointless, they will just dig to the surface and use the free dirt to expand their colony. You fight an ant colony by poisoning the queen(s) ... some ant colonies, like the Allegheny Mound Ant, have hundreds of queens in each mound ...
Thank you sir!
You have bolstered my unreferenced claims with historical example.
As a boy & young man in my visits to Spain, it was under the dictator Franco, a country relatively poor but beautiful and peaceful.
Sadly, your analogy is not a happy one, since the victory in Spain of national socialist dictatorship over international socialist tyranny is not in any way the choice American conservatives wish.
In the USA the word "conservative" means our Constitution and the Bible, not necessarily in that order.
So we would not willingly chose one form of dictatorship to defend us from another form of tyranny.
That makes us "weak" politically, but perhaps not as weak as some, even on Free Republic, imagine.
Greenfield has nailed it again.
What he does not mention is that the “Progressives” have gone so far over the top with the Obama administration that they have alienated much of their constituency, leaving only the base. The base is not that large, probably no more than 20 percent of the country, likely less.
As they become more and more unhinged, that base shrinks down to the True Believers. True Believers are probably less than 10% of the country.
10% of committed people can do a lot, but the have to contend with probably 30% of equally committed opposition.
Human nature and reality are working against them.
Petrol bombs are most effective...so I hear!
>>The Democrats have become an unelected shadow anti-government that is seeking to bring down an elected government. That is what I described in an earlier article as a civil war.<<
No sir, it is sedition to advocate the violent overthrow of the government. If this continues unabated, this shadow anti-government will result in no government. Warlords, anyone?
Great post - thanks.
And there you have it in a nutshell exactly! The worker ants just blindly follow like zombies. They will believe anything the "queens" tell them and do what ever they are told. In the ant colony if the queen is proven to be too sick or weak, the colony will turn against her, and if the queen dies (or is removed from the hive) the colony will not survive.
Go after the "queens" and neutralize them! The question is, do we actually have the guts to do that because it seems that even Trump is reluctant to prosecute the leftist leaders for their obvious criminal behavior. For far too long now the elite crowd has been immune and protected. We can only hope and pray that he is just biding his time and waiting for the right time to spring the trap, and hope that the right time comes sooner rather than too late.
You nailed it Guv. Excellent companion to the article itself.
...and the obvious answer to your question, of course not, none at all, and very short selective memories as well.
Wonderfully stated.
When Gorsuch is on the Supreme Court, they are declaring that none of his decisions will be legitimate because Trump is not legitimate.
There are so many ways the enemy within operates.
This will not end well.
Graduate & Professional Degree ping.
To be added or dropped from this occasional ping list, freepmail Albion Wilde.
Uhhm...not so much.
That sounds like an excellent idea. Can you make that happen Mr. Black and Mr. Foxwell?
I've taken a real liking to Daniel Greenfield's work as well.
Excellent question: “What is the answer to this dilemma?”
The answer should be: “We go out and form alternatives to universities.”
But the problem with this answer is that the government is sponsoring the current deficiencies of our academic institutions. How then would the alternatives compete?
Truly, the only thing worse than an unfunded government mandate is a funded government mandate.
Thanks for the ping. So many important points and memorable lines in here.
This must be done, for sure:
End the centralization of education, roll back the endless expansion of higher education and take a hard look at the corporate culture monopolies of the entertainment industry and the Berlin Wall will fall again.
In another color scheme, the "Clinton Archipelago":
Watching how the mainstream media is ignoring or pushing back on the Susan Rice story I was thinking about this when I woke up earlier having been on the road late
But I’d like to hear Daniel opine on the culture division more.
It’s far more than GOP versus Dems
It’s them against us
They reject western civilization mostly on racial grounds but also in reference to nearly any other minority’s so called discrimination at white hands
And those aggrieved have more power than they ever have and seek to import more to bolster their numbers and we can see how they intend to deal with us
The inroads they’ve made with every generation from even pre boomers forward is scary and their influence has grown every decade since WWII
precious few kids today are not at least partially compromised even if the parents did all they could
I have no faith in the GOP
I would like to see the Trump administration stop funding universities where scandalous anti-American courses are taught, but it’s hard to see how they can do that other than just say “no” and not say why. The Ivies are all incredibly rich from endowments and should not need endless amounts of taxpayer funds for research. But unless the withdrawal of funds can be perceived as a punishment, the steady stream of indoctrination is unlikely to change.
If the Obama administration could force Common Core through the K-12 schools, why could not a course of traditional American history and civics be required? Right now textbooks are being written and supplied through Islamist channels.
One of the worst “monopolies in the entertainment industry” is that 90% of news broadcasting is controlled by about six companies based in New York. This has to stop.
