Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward said that allegations from a report that say President Trump's transition team was named in surveillance reports of foreign individuals would be "gross violations."
A couple of diplomats who were legitimately wiretapped were talking about meeting Trump or his team, Woodward said on "The O'Reilly Factor."
However, U.S. intelligence agencies are supposed to comply with "minimization" rules, which protect Americans' names from being published in reports or leaked in any way, he added.
"The idea that there was intelligence value was really thin," Woodward said.
"You've got this really serious problem potentially of people in the Obama administration passing around this highly classified gossip," Woodward said.
He called the leaking of such names "inappropriate" and possibly illegal. If Nunes' statements are true, it would be a "gross violation."
They knew this information was floating around the intelligence agencies, Woodward said. . .

I can’t argue with a thing you posted...am in complete agreement, with ONE caveat.....we don’t know, one way or another, that Jaime was ONLY hired for that one purpose. And that she was hired, AT ALL, doesn’t sit well with mje, nor others who know her history.
They can’t just accept that Trump was spied on. They have to spin it.
It wasn't too long ago that Woodward was all spun up over the "dirty dossier".
It may be that he has finally realized that what has been going down makes Watergate, the event that he built his career on, look like a game at a child's birthday party.
It may be that he knows that his glory has long since faded, and he doesn't want to miss out on this one.
Ahem..... Remember I had to talk you into taking on the Cruz bots head on.
Relax about Ivanka and Jared. Jared will solve the middle east. The washington monument will look spectacular. http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/white-house-2018/2933531?snl=1

‘Highly Classified Gossip’ About Trump>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Nope. Not gossip. Ugly cannot be made cute.
Its felony Breach of the Espionage Act.
The goal was to destroy the transition and delegitimize President Trump.Sedition.
Comey needs to resign under threat of impeachment.
Jeff Sessions needs to get the necessary evidence from the NSA, and convene a grand jury. The FBI is dirty.
Notice how Obama is in French Polynesia on a private Island for a month without the wookie, beyond the subpoena reach of the House Committee on Intelligence chaired by Nunes. I am sure Trey Gowdy has a few questions for Obama. Unusual.
Any bets that Obama will re-enter the USA?
We need more of them to speak out.
Cut off Obama’s allowance and strip him of his secret service detail, if he chooses to stay out of reach.

In everything but name, Trump is settling in as what appears to be a full-time staffer in her fathers administration, with a broad and growing portfolio except she is not being sworn in, will hold no official position and is not pocketing a salary, her attorney said.
Trumps role, according to her attorney Jamie Gorelick, will be to serve as the presidents eyes and ears while providing broad-ranging advice, not just limited to womens empowerment issues. Last week, for instance, Trump raised eyebrows when she was seated next to Angela Merkel for the German chancellors first official visit to Trumps White House.
An office in West a Wing? Security clearance?? This has GOT to stop. We are in perilous times. We are basically at war. I believe Ivanka is being set up to be used for grounds for impeachment of the President ( nepotism). I do NOT trust Gorelick and do notwant her two degrees from our President! Get them OUT of Whitehouse. Don’t know what Trump is thinking !
“Highly classified gossip” is just a euphemism for attempts at blackmail.
We need to start seeing some arrests very soon or nobody is going to take Trump seriously anymore - the situation gives every appearance of Trump being powerless to stop the rampant leaking of classified info and unwilling to hold anyone to account for it.
Trump needs to reverse the momentum on this issue fast - we are already in the “spiraling out of control” phase. Feet need to be put down, not tomorrow, but right this very minute.
And remember, if there is anyone who should know more than a great deal about highly classified gossip it is Woodward.
FOLLOW THE MONEY! Just think of the valuable inside information that could be gathered from listening to Trump and his associates discussing their plans to legitimately divest the president-elect from his business dealings.
Look for stock trades and investments from everyone who could have seen these intercepts, then expand that search to family and friends.
Nepotism is not a crime.
Nothing but speculation for the lyin' media!
Woodward used the term “wire tapped”
In so doing, Woodward justified the Trump use of the term.
CNN and Comcast must be destroyed
I noticed that there haven’t been any “leaks” coming out of the White House in the last couple weeks. Coincidence?
Essentially, Woodward is saying this surveillance is only people talking “about” Trump and his associates, did not capture any of his actual associates. I think Woodward is talking horse hockey here. He has no clue. He’s been living off his reputation since his Watergate days, as he’s completely lost his edge - if he ever had an edge. Bernstein must have been the smarter half of the team.
Woodward wants access to Trump so he can write a book. He’ll be more favorable than most of the MSM toward Trump. Keep an eye on what he says, IMO.
the situation gives every appearance of Trump being powerless to stop the rampant leaking of classified info and unwilling to hold anyone to account for it.
The kenyan “classified” garbage gossip to give the appearance of guilt in Trump. He’s got nothing. Widely disseminating trivial matters gathered by intel is what will hang them, IMO. There is no plausible reason to do that other than harm Trump politically.
