Drugs are killing so many people in Ohio that cold-storage trailers are being used as morgues
Washington Post ^ | March 16, 2017

By about 3 p.m. Friday, a county morgue in east Ohio was already full — and more bodies were expected.

Rick Walters, an investigator for the Stark County coroner's office, had just left for two death scenes: a suicide and an overdose.

From the road, he called the director of the Ohio Emergency Management Agency to ask for help. He needed more space, he explained — specifically, a cold-storage trailer to act as an overflow morgue.

As with much of the United States, Ohio is in the throes of a heroin and opioid epidemic that shows no signs of abating.

I think the way to attack this is jobs and tests for welfare and other benefits. If Trump can get employers motivated to open on the inner city and reduce unemployment a lot of issues, drugs and homelessness and welfare will improve.

Of course heroin is bad. It is horrible. Especially black tar heroin that is far more addictive than the brown heroin pushed by cartels, probably the most additive of all drugs. The death rate from black tar is high.

Black tar heroin comes from one area in Mexico, and the pushers are illegal aliens who not infrequently entice young children to try it. Black tar heroin has destroyed communities in Ohio and has spread to numerous stated. I don't know why but they dealers are under orders to sell only to whites.

Incorrect: Freidrich Bayer Fabriken of Germany was trying to create codeine from morphine. Instead, the experiment produced an acetylated form of morphine one to two times more potent than morphine. The head of Bayer research coined the name Heroin, from the greek root word heros, which was to mean the drug was “heroic”. Bayer scientists were not the first to make heroin, but made it large scale quantities and commercialized Heroin as their brand— as a “Sedative for Coughing” (and this was not directed at children, which Paregoric, an opium distillate, was— usu. for diarrhea)

So, from 1898 through to 1910, diamorphine was marketed under the trademark name Heroin as a non-addictive morphine substitute and cough suppressant. NOn-addictive— imagine that- and they marketed this with personal injection kits with syringes and mixing vials—incredible. The same Bayer that, with I.G.Farben enslaved millions of Germans from death camps and factory camps, notably in Auschwitz II. What a nice group of helping doctors.

Reference my post #224 and, as I now see, many others of similar sourcing and comments. This is not a “benign” drug.

After all, opium addiction was purposefully used by the British Empire to bring down China as their client state of addicts... from the tea-taels of silver- opium exchange done through Hong Kong and causing the Opium Wars, which the Brits fought to maintain the trade.

Damn you, johnthebaptistmoore, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump! /s

There. Fixed it for you. Ronald Reagan was and will always be my hero. Try visiting Reagan Ranch.

You may find out that President Reagan has many, many friends and many people who loved him and
always will. I was devastated when he died, but I do keep pictures of him around the house here, along
with the cards and gifts he gave me and my husband when we visited him there.

Agreed. It isn’t and never was a benign drug. It has quite a history. Wonder what people in the future will write about its use today—President Trump cannot start that wall soon enough!

Drug abuse is a CHOICE. Don’t wanna die from drugs? Don’t DO drugs! Don’t expect sympathy if you CHOOSE to do ‘em and get sick or die.

How are pharmacists the cause of opiate addiction?

The undocumented pharmacists on the street corner.

Every time a story like this comes out the libertarians start talking pure BS about legalizing drugs to save lives.

It ain't about saving lives, it's about repudiating Tyranny.

"Small government conservatives" can't legitimately support an ever-expanding police state, with ever-expanding powers that trample Constitutional rights. Just because some weak people want to destroy their lives doesn't mean you put them in prison for owning the wrong plant, chemical, medicine, or liquid spirits. That is Tyranny which fully negates any self-righteous impulses. If they commit a real crime, fine.

No knock warrants—illegal surveillance—a police state—you're right: libertarians aren't willing to sell out our minimal government principles in the name of expediency and nanny-state Tyranny, unlike some so-called "conservatives". It's authoritarians like that who are shoveling the "pure BS"...

I guess we're lucky we have the WaPo to keep us hysterically informed about the need to perpetuate the phony "War on Drugs".

Education, not legislation, is the answer. Authoritarian shortcuts which trample the Constitution are not a legitimate expression of "concern"...

The majority of the addicts you deal with just decided one day to pick up a needle and shoot heroin?

No.

What opiate did they start with?

No I was correct. Heroin was first marketed in the United States as a medicine for children - as I said. It was first was invented in Hong Kong, not Germany. It was not invented by Bayer. And what in the world does Auschwitz have to do with anything? That was half a century later.

Obama and the left emboldened and enabled the Mexican drug cartels and gangs who are responsible for this carnage.

They’ve coddled every malevolent force within this country, in order to destroy the America they hate, and to usher in an era of chaos and destruction that results in the complete dissolution of everything we are, and everything we stand for.

Thank God the decent people of America began pushing back in 2010, and have now reduced their wicked, debased political party to a mere shadow of its former self.

With President Trump at the helm, we now have one final chance to restore this nation to some semblance of sanity without resorting to bloodshed. I pray with every ounce of my being that we’ll do so.
