Of course the media is going to focus on the millions who will not get free or heavily subsidized health “insurance” at taxpayer expense. The media will do everything possible to protect Obamacare.

Millions lost out and are still losing when they crammed obamacare down our throats. It all works out in the end, but freedom is always preferable to socialism and tyranny.

Obamacare ended my original health insurance plan in 2013, and forced me to buy insurance on NY State’s Exchange. I had to go on the exchange again in 2014 when one of the famous Obamacare “coops” went bust here in NY State.

I believe I am one of the “14 million” counted by the hyper-political “analysts” as being covered under Obamacare, even though its been a disaster for me and my family.

That is true. But without all the bells and whistles (e.g. gender reassignment surgery, gynecological care for men, etc) on the only plan available in a state the prices will drop. So a person that could not afford a bronze plan under Obamacare will be able to afford a much more modestly priced plan that does not have the bells and whistles. But the CBO will ignore this fact as the world is static and never changes. And people’s purchasing choices are completely unaffected by changes in the marketplace.

Expert, that’s for sure.

Fourteen million Americans would lose coverage ...

Spicer explained this well. Having a piece of paper doesn't mean they have health care. Have they tried to use it? No? Then they don't know if they have any health care coverage or not.

If no doctor or clinic will treat them, they don't have health care.

If the piece of paper doesn't cover some of the cost of the health care, then they don't have health care coverage.

The nation cannot afford to provide unlimited free healthcare to millions of able bodied men and women and have a robust healthy economy at the same time.

Is it fair to extort money from workers by jacking their premiums and deductibles sky high so the money can be used to provide free healthcare to millions and millions of able bodied moochers?

If the republicans push a plan like this one through they aren’t keeping their word to kill Obamacare.

They are just making a few changes and giving it a new name.

This rebranding of Obamacare, with news of millions losing coverage, is a total disaster. Why can’t congress pass repeal to end Obamacare at the end of the current policy cycle (end of year). Then build a replacement based on consumer choice and basic rights—national coverage, not state, no pre-existing, buy what you want, use doctors of your choice, etc. Basic patient bill of rights, minimal entry requirements for insurance companies. Let them compete. Then, figure out what to do with people certifiably not able to buy coverage. Fix that. The tweak of Obamacare that is instead offered up is BAD NEWS. Who wants or can defend kicking millions off coverage. Wrong message. Stupid. Like they want to fail.

But beginning in 2020, premiums would begin to fall in comparison to current law, and by 2026 average premiums for people buying individual coverage would be roughly 10 percent lower than current law.

What does “coverage” mean with a $10,000 deductible? You may have “insurance” but you can’t get health care.

How can this bill even be “scored”. The bill is still being worked on and it will roll out over 3 phases. The bill still has to go to the Senate and you know there will be changes there. I am at a loss as to how they can score it with any accuracy.
