Dear Mr. President: Do NOT under any circumstances endorse or sign RYANcare - it will destroy you
March 11, 2017 | Jim Robinson

Dear Mr. President:

Do NOT under any circumstances endorse or sign RYANcare. RYANcare will immediately become TRUMPcare and that will destroy your credibility and your presidency.

Ryan and the globalist big government GOPe hates you and what you ran on just as much as the democrats and the media. The day you sign TRUMPcare, you own it and they own you. You will be the GOPe's prison bitch. You will also lose your support base and then your tax plan and other trade and economic plans go up in smoke.

Do not settle for anything less than full and complete repeal. If you can't get that from congress, then veto whatever they send up (rinse and repeat as necessary) and if they fail eventually to send up a clean repeal bill then sign nothing and let Obamacare implode on its own.

The crap about 60 votes is crap indeed. They control the senate and the rules. No excuses! This is totally in Republican hands.

If they override your veto, then they own the disaster that follows and you will still have your credibility and your support base. And we are prepared to fight these evil socialist bastards until hell freezes over if necessary.

What happens to the millions of poor people if they lose their health insurance? Well, how did they manage to get health care before Obama? What happened to the millions of people who lost their health care when Obamacare was installed? What happened to the millions who lost their jobs due to Obamacare? What's happening to our economy and our national debt as a result of socialist programs? What happens to our people when the government finally goes bust?

Look, the media, the democrats, the GOPe, the globalists, the corporatists, the crony capitalists, the socialists, the illegals, the Mohammedists, etc, are all going to hate you no matter what you do. Do not under any circumstances blink, retreat or cave-in to their socialist demands. That would be the end of your moral authority and the resulting continuation of unchecked big government will lead to the ultimate collapse of our economy.

Worst case, if the current socialist government/crony capitalist corporate healthcare insurance industry implodes, we will still survive as a free nation and free people. We have faith in God, our constitution, our free markets and our ability to overcome major obstacles. We shall overcome and persevere.

If we slay the federal behemoth and get back to free markets, we will find that government costs will come down, the economy will soar, healthcare costs will come down, federal tax rates can come down, and as more companies are profiting and more people are working, federal and state tax receipts will actually increase. And truly destitute people who cannot provide for themselves can be supported by local and state programs as intended.

Hold the line. America will love you for it in the long run.

It takes only a couple words in a bill to Repeal Obamacare. The GOP owns all levels of the legislature thus it should already be completed. Almost all campaigned that they (GOP including Trump, and both of the last elections 2012 and 2014) would Repeal Obamacare. They have already signed onto bills in the past to do so, but now when they have the total ability to do it in hours... Its not done.

They are playing games and trying to hold onto that which they like Power, Money, and false authority!

Dont allow yourself to be fooled anymore. It was and is Unconstitutional and they will not do their duty and REPEAL Period!

Note: Trump has been all over the place on this, but what comes through all the different chatter is he does believe the Government should control health care, even though he also said the Free Market should be the goal. Free Market means Government is Out of there thus No Law can or should be related to it. As “conservatives” and constitutionalest” said just a couple years ago. Their is No Authority for it in the Constitution. Why now do they accept something from Trump as “Replacement” acceptable?

God Bless

When did it become Repeal and Replace? All I want is a Repeal!

Amen! I’ve been preaching repeal, don’t replace since way before we knew who the candidate was going to be, and I utterly reject Ryan’s farce!

I agree with what you said but I ask that you think about this point. If the plan Ryan is proposing is the end all be all and as grand as what he proclaims it to be then why wouldn’t he show all three parts at the same time? Or even give a high level overview of what those other parts are?

In private business when I have to give a presentation I’d be thrown out of the room if I mentioned a part two and three of a plan without providing high level bullets of what that entails. This is why I don’t think it even exists.

‘He said if the bill comes to my desk I’ll sign it.’

I don’t blame you for being ticked off by that statement. And I agree it’s unfortunate Trump said it. And what’s really horrible is if we do end up with a majority of legislators concluding that this is the best they can do.

But it was not Trump who pushed for this legislation to be voted on before tax cuts, was it?

Hard truth ...

This year the economy is a higher priority. If Trump gets the cuts, then our economy will have a much easier time repairing healthcare in the near future. But if our economy sputters, then no one will be satisfied with whatever healthcare solutions are agreed on.

‘I don’t need blowhard Hannity translating ...’

And by the way, Hannity won’t translate anything — all he will have to do is lay out the facts.

Trump’s plan is not Ryan’s plan for healthcare. Trump is anticipating Phases 2 and 3. Funny how you conveniently left that out.

Jim,

It’s anguishing for me to think of RyanCare as the fulfillment of the MANY promises President Trump made to us to replace and repeal Obamacare. RyanCare does not fulfill that promise. Not even close. In fact, it’s a GIANT step backwards.

I poured my heart and soul and (MUCH money) into supporting President Trump’s nomination and subsequent election based on his many promises (especially his promise to repeal and replace Obamacare) and my strong belief that President Trump was different than every other elected official in my lifetime because I actually expected him to keep his campaign promises.

My only hope is that RyanCare is some kind of ruse for unknown political purposes, such as sinking Ryan’s ship or for buying time or something. I’ll be surprised if RyanCare passes the House and stunned if it passes the Senate and done if President Trump signs it.

If President Trump does in fact try to tout Ryancare as the fulfillment of his campaign promise to repeal and replace Obamacare, then I’m in 100% agreement with your statements that President Trump will lose the support of his supporters and is finished as a President; the GOP would be finished as well. And so would our country.

I can forgive President Trump many things, including being unable to fulfill ALL of his promises, and especially those attempted fulfillments thwarted by opposition that cannot be overcome.

However, I will NOT forgive him if he accepts RyanCare as the fulfillment of his campaign promise to repeal and replace Obamacare. I’d actually rather President Trump do nothing at this point and wait until the GOP has a filibuster-proof Senate in 2018 and then do it right, rather than accept counterproductive measures like RyanCare.

“If parts 2 & 3 are rolled out then you will be proven wrong, if not you will be proven right.”

I am glad you pointed out ‘phases 2 and 3’.

Trump never said that this was his plan. As my prior posts point out, this was OBVIOUSLY Ryan’s plan, and Ryan had lied to Sean Hannity about what the House bill would look like.

Turning around and calling this ‘Trump-Care’ would be incredibly unfair.

IF we conservatives keep COOL HEADS ?

This WON’T be pinned on Trump.

[Emphasis on ‘IF’.]

It would take a determined bipartizan media blitz to pin that on him. He sees some improvements with Ryan-RINO-Care, but his words consistently make it CLEAR that he is not in any way satisfied with Phase 1.

“It takes only a couple words in a bill to Repeal Obamacare.”

If you think that Susan Collins and other RINOs would EVER want to simply repeal Obamacare without a safety net in place, you might as well try to get rich finding sea bats.

Ryan wants us divided, and if we turn on Trump it’s icing on the cake — a chance for RINOs to laugh and clap each other on the back.

“However, I will NOT forgive him if he accepts RyanCare as the fulfillment of his campaign promise ...”

Trump made it clear that HIS goal is phases 2 and 3.

If we all start calling this Trump-Care we SLANDER him.

It is a tangled web that I do not have the time to uncover. When innocent people who work, are assets to their community, vote, and are all around hard-working people get stabbed in the back......I am thinking of my 81 year old mother who lives solely on social security, it’s not right.

I am so glad to hear you are recovering. May your health stay strong. My mother went thru that & it is rough. Best to you.

“Trump made it clear that HIS goal is phases 2 and 3.”

I’m not turning on President Trump. Yet.

But both myself and Mrs Catnipman have studied the Ryan bill carefully, and this is NOT a “Phase 1”: this is a MAJOR, MAJOR step backwards, and is WAY worse than obamacare as it currently stands. WAY worse!

“... this is NOT a ‘Phase 1’: this is a MAJOR, MAJOR step backwards ...”

If I were to draft a ‘phase one’ that is RINO-approved this year it would be to shore up healthcare workers and hospitals and clinics so that we have some kind of healthcare industry in place when the economy gets robust.

It would appear to be fiscally responsible on paper while actually we would end up with a ‘docfix’ bill a month or two later and probably other emergency spending.

It would be hideous to me to allow statewide monopolies, but that’s apparently vital to corrupt RINOs who could get overwhelmed after the next midterm.

I’ll check around a little and see ‘what’s what’ about this bill.

Quick point — we don’t know if Trump is quietly threatening a veto already if certain changes aren’t made.

He certainly wouldn’t make a public threat unless Ryan went manic on him.

I understand your point but it doesn’t mean there aren’t two more parts to this. Perhaps the details were not released because if they do release just a sentence or two then the opposition can make anything of it that they want and sin it to the detriment of Trump.
