The bus seems remarkably intact, at least.
Prayers.
ROP?
Driver survives. Says that he did not see the lights or hear the horns of the train or the railroad crossing lights. Right? That is usually the answer when the driver is asked. Saw where this 18 wheeler got smashed by a train on TV one time. Crossing lights booming, train whistle sounding, and truck driver said he did not see train or hear or see the warning lights at the crossing. Why do these people think they can beat these trains??? People dead because of driver stupidity.
RIP for the victims.
Charter bus, taht time of the day . . . hope it’s not a high school or college team on a road trip to a game
By the looks of thing the train must not have been moving very fast and who is to say the light were working and/or the train blew the horn. Could have been a spur track or switching cars on an off track. Maybe he didn’t hear anything.
Looks like one of the gambling buses that pick up people from far away and take them to the casinos..................
Even if the lights don’t work, the train whistle is pretty loud. School buses have to stop at every railroad crossing regardless of whether the gates are down or up. Perhaps that is a requirement that ALL busses should follow.
Probably a casino bus transporting patrons.....
Fox news says it’s a charter bus with elderly people on board.
Well, they crapped out...
I’m not sure about this particular street but many crossings in Biloxi are without gates or even good lights. There has been an inordinate amount of road construction in Biloxi over the past year or more so I wouldn’t be so quick to ignore his pleas.
I notice the people are mostly elderly, so That is most likely a gambling bus.
We’ve taken the buss from here in NW FL to Biloxi several times...................

Yes it is right along with all tanker trucks. As I said in post 9, the train may have been switching cars on a side track or spur, they don’t always blow the horn constantly.
Train must have managed to come pretty close to a stop or else the bus would be radically crumpled. Serious accident of course, but could have been much worse.
I drove a school bus back in the day. In the 1960s, Senior high school boys in Alabama, age 17 and above, after passing the drivers test, safety course put on by Alabama State Troopers could drive school buses. I drove my Senior year. Our of our fleet of 9 buses at my high school, I was the only one not to be involved in any type of accident!! I carried that proudly as one guy got fired because of too many accidents. I would stop at a rail road crossing. Opened the door, opened the window next to my seat, and had boy get off the bus, go out to the tracks, listen, look both ways, then run across and waive me across. I would then cross and pick him back up. That was the standard procedure we had to do when crossing the rail roads. That type of accident did not happen around here. I had to cross this one rail road several times twisting and turning through the area across different roads. This is very sad.
See my post at #19 about how we used to do crossings.
