Driver survives. Says that he did not see the lights or hear the horns of the train or the railroad crossing lights. Right? That is usually the answer when the driver is asked. Saw where this 18 wheeler got smashed by a train on TV one time. Crossing lights booming, train whistle sounding, and truck driver said he did not see train or hear or see the warning lights at the crossing. Why do these people think they can beat these trains??? People dead because of driver stupidity.

There are several street crossings in that area and there have multiple accidents.

I believe that buses are to come to a complete stop at RR Xings and look both ways before proceeding.

Update: Yahoo headline now says that there are 3 dead, and an unknown number are hurt.
The bus got stuck on the tracks. That happens sometimes with large vehicles at that crossing with the short, steep incline and decline on either side. It’s only the fault of the driver to the extent that he doesn’t realize this.
It was a casino junket tour bus from Austin, so the driver was likely unfamiliar with the crossing. There are, at this time, four confirmed deaths. There are 35 being treated at area hospitals—per Biloxi police.

If the bus was stopped on the railroad tracks, then the train didn’t collide with the bus because a collision can only occur when two moving objects come together with violent force.
