Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) says she will not vote with fellow Republicans for an Obamacare repeal bill that defunds Planned Parenthood. The Affordable Care Act has failed in so many ways, but there are elements within it that deserve to be saved, Murkowski said, according to CBS affiliate KTVA.
As she addressed the Alaska state legislature Wednesday, the Republican senator said Obamacare has allowed for the expansion of Medicaid and the opportunity for more than 27,000 Alaskan citizens to obtain health insurance coverage.
Additionally, Murkowski said the provisions for pre-existing conditions, coverage for adult children up to the age of 26, and mental health coverage are all positive aspects of Obamacare.
As long as Alaska wants to keep the expansion it should have the option, Murkowski said. I will not vote to repeal it.
Murkowski also says she supports Planned Parenthood.
Taxpayer dollars should never be used to pay for abortions, but I will not vote to deny Alaskans access to the health services that Planned Parenthood provides, she said.

If pressed, she would not be able to name even ONE element that could not be done with more efficiency and effectiveness in the private sector COMPLETE with cost savings.
Why the charade as an ‘R’?
:: I will not vote to deny Alaskans access to the health services that Planned Parenthood provides ::
And just WHAT are those ^services^ PP provides? From a Health-care perspective, PP deflects services to other providers and “takes their cut” for the referral.
My first thought....but don’t think she wants to be part of the DC circuit. She needs to work on Lisa.
Chuck Schumer will appreciate her vote. Why vote for a Republican who votes like a Democrat, Alaskans? Just vote for the Democrat, and admit you are a state full of government-loving parasites.
Grouper Mouth rides again.
Alaska Ping

My Grandmother once said that anything anyone ever says before the word "but" never actually means anything.
Conservatives in both parties should run candidates in BOTH party primaries.
If I'm not mistakened, didn't congress exempt themselves from the abomination known as 0bamacare? I think if they had to live under the same rules as the rest of the peasants, there would be absolutely no debate.
Given Alaskans’ voting history, it is unbelievable that this woman is in their Senate seat.
It would never happen if the senators were still selected by the state legislature.
That was going to be my response as well.
Mrs. Palin should step up to that challenge.
Lady Sarah was the one the outed the Murkowski family for the RINOs that they they were. In fairness, Ted Stevens was far worse in raiding the treasury to buy votes from Alaskans.
They already did. She lost, but ran as a write-in candidate and won re-election anyway.
Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) is a lying, murdering traitor to the United States of America.
What kind of Alaskan-American would vote to elect her?!?
That would solve so much xzins.
Think about it, all these red states with "D" Senators would be fixed.
And Broads like MurCOWski would be gone!
Can Palin salvage her political career in Alaska at this point? Would be great to see, but I don’t know if she can.
How I wish she could have just held on till the end of her term as guv, privately contracting a ghost writer to put together the book that could have paid off the lawsuits along the way.
The House will pass a good repeal, then Senators from states that did the medicaid expansion will demand a payoff and ruin it.
Everybody wins!
Well, every politician...
Thank you for bringing up that point Dustoff.
Boy did they never forget or forgive though. What a truly vile woman Murkowski is.
