House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) is asking the White House to provide his panel with details about how sensitive information was handled during a weekend meeting at President Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort.
In a letter to White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, Chaffetz requested detailed explanations of the Trump administration's security protocols at the Florida estate, including what documents were present at Saturday's powwow and how the administration vetted club guests.
The request came after it was revealed that Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held a meeting in plain sight on Saturday to discuss North Korea's most recent missile test.
Some guests at the club that night posted photos on social media showing the two leaders being briefed while aides stood in the background, using cellphones to shine light on documents.
The White House has said no classified documents were reviewed in public, but questions continue to swirl.
"White House press secretary Sean Spicer said no classified information was present in the Mar-a-Lago dining room, as the President was briefed in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) both before and after the dinner," Chaffetz wrote in the letter.

You may have just identified the leaker in chief.
I believe that is one of them.
Trump stole their party.
They want it back.
I don’t doubt that at all.
The only people who hate Trump more than the Dems is the Repubs.
Pray America woke
Your post should be an entry in a book with a title such as “The Modern Political Lexicon” in chapter “Fake News Media” subsection “And The Little Minions Who Enable Them.”
I keep hoping the Republicans will revive some hearings involving the IRS. That was nothing but a huge cover-up with several instances of backup data being destroyed. Gowdy was on that committee, but I don't recall who the chairman was.
I think Sessions will have a conversation with Chaffetz.
I’m just wondering about that whole “separation of powers” thingy.
House Oversight Committee chair is Chaffetz.
Trump shows transparency and is pilloried by his own party. Obama promises transparency and is a skulker with a corrupt administration, but no interest on the Chaffetzes of our noble Congress. I despise them.
That's kind of the point...they're distracting from the areas they don't want examined.
Not very encouraging, but they should go back and investigate the IRS further. I guess Koskinen is still there and would still be a roadblock, but that was nothing but one big string of cover-ups and destructions of evidence.
One story is that Chaffetz replaced Issa as Oversight chair because Issa was too aggressive at investigating the IRS.
>>>My understanding was he dined with the American and Japanese delegation in a private dining room.
The meeting was caught on camera and shared on Facebook with a relatively new member of the club, so this was not in a private room. Also, the Mar-a-Lago participates in the H2B visa program, so some of those serving may be foreign nationals.
Hmm, well that is more troubling. I would have preferred that they remain in Washington. They can always golf at Joint Base Andrews.
With the way that the left and hostile actors are fishing for anything to cast doubt, blame, or embarrass the President, I think, at least for the next several months, that President Trump would be better served with a disposition of extreme discretion.
The left is acting, in my opinion, particularly dangerous and unhinged, like a cornered animal. Their operatives are behind every shadow, waiter, phone operator, and are being enabled by Obama and people who certainly don’t have the USA’s interests at heart.
I think President Trump needs to clean house “bigly”.
What is wrong with Chaffetz? Why is he opposed to Trump?
Perhaps he thinks it’s safe to do so now.
It must mean that the don didn’t care whether or not his talks were made public. It’s kind of like how he tweets some of what he is thinking. Oh noooos. Let’s all hide under the table. Silly media all upset about having to sit in a room with garbage bags over the windows while rich club members record meetings between heads of state via their cell phones. Lol
